Sensitive eyes, a pregnancy symptom

Sensitive eyes
During pregnancy, some women may experience an increased sensitivity to light, causing discomfort or even headaches.

This could be caused by hormonal changes or changes to the shape of your eye. Be sure to wear sunglasses and spend time in shaded areas to help ease this symptom.

Is it normal?
Sensitive eyes during pregnancy can be bothersome, but it is completely normal. Many women experience increased sensitivity to light, which can make bright lights or even sunlight feel uncomfortable.

Don't worry too much about it, as it usually improves after giving birth.
Prevent and care
Proper management of sensitive eyes, such as wearing sunglasses and avoiding eye strain, can help maintain eye health.
  • Use preservative-free lubricating eye drops to relieve dryness.
  • Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from harsh sunlight and reduce sensitivity to light.
  • Consult with an eye specialist if symptoms persist or worsen.
If you wear contacts, check the label to make sure the drops can be used with contacts.

When to consult?
