Baby's Heartbeat: First Sounds

Baby's Heartbeat: First Sounds
Congratulations! You are now pregnant, and you are probably curious about your baby's first ultrasound
One of the most exciting moments during the first ultrasound is hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time.
It is a magical experience, and it is one that you will never forget.
Here's what you need to know about your baby's heart in the first ultrasound
When Can You Detect Your Baby's Heartbeat?
The first ultrasound usually takes place around 8-12 weeks of pregnancy.
At this stage, the baby's heart is already beating, and you can hear it through an ultrasound.
Actually, it can be detected as early as 6 weeks
You will be able to see the heartbeat on the screen and hear it through a speaker. It's an incredible moment that many parents-to-be cherish.
Tips to Ensure You Can Hear Your Baby's Heartbeat
It's important to prepare for your first ultrasound so that you can hear your baby's heartbeat.
Here are some tips to ensure that you can hear the heartbeat during the first ultrasound:
Drink plenty of water before the appointment. A full bladder will help push your uterus up and allow for better visibility during the ultrasound.
Wear comfortable and loose clothing. This will make it easier for the technician to access your belly.
Relax and breathe normally. It can be nerve-wracking to wait for your baby's heartbeat, but try to stay calm and breathe normally. The ultrasound technician will guide you through the process.

What Is a Healthy Heartbeat at the First Ultrasound?
A healthy heartbeat during the first ultrasound is between 120-160 beats per minute.
It's important to note that the heartbeat can vary depending on the gestational age of the baby.
If the heartbeat is below or above the normal range, the doctor may order additional tests to determine if there are any underlying issues.
During the first ultrasound, the technician will also check for any abnormalities, such as a hole in the heart or a heart defect.
If any issues are detected, the doctor will provide guidance and additional testing as needed.
Takeaways
The first ultrasound is an exciting and memorable moment for any expectant parent.
It's a chance to see your baby's heart beating for the first time and to ensure that everything is progressing as it should be.
With these tips, you can prepare for the first ultrasound and ensure that you hear your baby's heartbeat.
Remember that a healthy heartbeat during the first ultrasound is between 120-160 beats per minute.
If you have any concerns about your baby's heart, don't hesitate to ask your doctor. They are there to provide guidance and support during this exciting time.

Oh just wait my love, it gets so much better when you see them for the first time! Until then this is what your baby looked like at 6 weeks and what it will look like at 10w4d! You have so much to look forward to, don't let time fool you lol, it feels like just yesterday I saw my little gummy bear for the first time.

So quick strange question, so this is my first baby. I'm so excited and very impatient to hear the heartbeat. I'm 7 1/2 weeks pregnant, so I know there's no heartbeat yet, but are the sounds I AM hearing with my stethoscope, are they the sounds of the baby growing and moving around? Anyone else listen in on their baby all the time?

The baby does have a heartbeat at 7 weeks. You can see the heart beating in an ultrasound but it’s very small which makes it too tiny to be heard on stethoscope or doppler.

My baby had a heartbeat at 6w4d maybe even sooner. What your hearing is more than likely your insides doing their thing 😊
