Tension and pain in the lower abdomen during pregnancy

During your pregnancy, some tension in the abdomen will appear. Don't worry, most of the time there is nothing to worry about.

  • As the baby grows, the uterine ligaments expand, causing tension from the lower abdomen to the lumbar region.
  • Constipation, which is common during pregnancy, also causes pain, and so does urinary tract infection.
  • If you have pain and are bleeding, call your obstetrician or midwife. It could be an ovarian cyst.

In any case, to be reassured, do not hesitate to consult a proffessional!

Tell your obg! Probably nothing, just natural stuff, but you can never be too careful! I'm 35 weeks as well and experiencing the same stuff honestly. Upper belly pain too. It sucks for sure. I got checked for early labor and it's just Braxton hicks contractions and the baby kicking A LOT

Time them and what time they come! Baby center has a contraction timer and once they get to 5 minutes apart it’s time to go to the hospital. 🥰

No it's normal. Your uterus is stretching as your baby begins to grow❤️
