Vaginal Pain

Vaginal Pain
Vaginal pain during pregnancy refers to any discomfort or soreness that a pregnant person may experience in their vaginal area. This can be caused by a variety of factors, such as hormonal changes, increased blood flow to the area, or pressure from the growing baby.

Is it normal?
As your body changes to support your growing baby, you may experience some vaginal pain or discomfort. This is typically normal, especially as your baby's head puts pressure on your pelvic muscles and ligaments.

As your pregnancy progresses, you may find that these symptoms become more noticeable, but can be managed with rest and gentle stretching.
Prevent and care
Proper management of vaginal pain is essential to avoid complications and ensure the health of both the mother and the baby.
  • Pressure on the pelvic region: The growing uterus and baby can exert pressure on the pelvic area, leading to discomfort.
  • Hormonal changes: Elevated progesterone levels can affect vaginal tissues, making them more sensitive.
  • Ligament stretching: As the uterus expands, it can stretch ligaments supporting the uterus, causing pain.
Pain, stiffness and pressure near your vagina or in your lower back can be completely normal symptoms of a healthy pregnancy, but if it’s accompanied by “any loss of fluid, either clear or bleeding like a period, follow up with a provider,”. The same goes if you have a fever, a general unwell feeling or nausea and vomiting.

Like joint pain in the crotch or like lightning crotch? Cuz both are a mood lol, but only at third trimester did I get the joint pain in my crotch area 🤣 I started pregnancy yoga to help it and it has helped some, but man, turning over in bed is the absolute most painful thing for sure😫❤️ Totally feel your pain💯

I’ve been dealing with this pain for a little over a month now and it has been horrible. I can barely walk sometimes. This is my 2nd and last pregnancy and I’m already wanting to deliver just to have some sort of relief.
