When To Seek Emergency Advice

When To Seek Emergency Advice
Congratulations on your pregnancy! The first trimester is an exciting time as your baby begins to grow and develop.
While most pregnancies progress smoothly, it's important to be aware of when to seek emergency advice to ensure the well-being of both you and your baby.
⚠️ Here are some key situations that warrant immediate medical attention:
Vaginal Bleeding
  • Heavy Bleeding: If you experience heavy vaginal bleeding, soaking through a pad in an hour or less, seek emergency medical care. This could be a sign of a miscarriage or other serious complications.
  • Severe Abdominal Pain: If vaginal bleeding is accompanied by severe abdominal pain, it's important to seek immediate medical attention as this could indicate an ectopic pregnancy or other urgent conditions.
Severe Abdominal Pain
  • Intense or Prolonged Pain: If you experience intense or prolonged abdominal pain that is not relieved with rest or over-the-counter pain medication, it's important to seek emergency medical care. Severe abdominal pain can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or other serious conditions.
  • Fever and Abdominal Pain: If you have a fever along with abdominal pain, it could indicate an infection, such as an appendicitis or pelvic inflammatory disease. Seek immediate medical attention in such cases.
Severe Nausea and Vomiting
  • Excessive Vomiting: If you are unable to keep any food or fluids down and are experiencing excessive vomiting, you may be at risk of dehydration. Dehydration can be dangerous for both you and your baby, so it's important to seek emergency medical care for evaluation and treatment.
  • Signs of Dehydration: Watch out for signs of dehydration, such as dark-colored urine, infrequent urination, dry mouth, dizziness, or lightheadedness. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your healthcare provider or go to the nearest emergency room.
Severe Fatigue or Dizziness
  • Extreme Fatigue: If you are experiencing extreme fatigue that interferes with your daily activities and is not relieved by rest, it's important to seek medical advice. Fatigue can be a normal symptom of pregnancy, but excessive or prolonged fatigue may indicate an underlying health concern.
  • Persistent Dizziness: If you have persistent dizziness or lightheadedness, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms such as blurred vision or difficulty speaking, seek immediate medical attention as it could be a sign of a more serious condition.
Takeaways
  • Heavy vaginal bleeding, severe abdominal pain, and excessive vomiting are signs that require immediate medical attention.
  • Signs of dehydration, extreme fatigue, and persistent dizziness should also prompt you to seek medical advice.
Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong or you are concerned about any symptoms, it's always better to seek medical advice to ensure the health and well-being of you and your baby.

So I’m actually only 36 weeks. But I have a serious question and need some advice please. I was so close to going to the emergency room today due to the fetal hiccups. He has been having hiccups daily the past 5 days or so and sometimes he will have them up to 3 times per day. They never last longer than like 5-8 mins. But I read online when you are due 3-4 weeks you are not supposed to have fetal hiccups && that sometimes it is a sign of something VERY serious and can lead to a still birth. He has other movements outside of the hiccups && is an extremely active baby in the womb. Please help! What should I do? I’m really worried and this is my second pregnancy , second son. And my first pregnancy was healthy and went well… #help #need #advice #urgent #emergency #needadvice #mom #help

So I need some advice if anyone is available to respond. Last night I woke up with extremely sharp stomach pains and it last for about 30 minutes it was so bad I was crying had to wake my fiancé. Just as he was getting dressed to take me to the emergency I started throwing up everything I ate. The pain stopped but soon as I laid down it came back. I fault through the pain last night but today I’m still hurting really bad can’t eat or anything. Should I go to the emergency??? There is no blood and I’m 11 weeks 3 days
