Baby's sleep at 1 year

When your baby blows out their first candle, the hardest part about sleeping is over - what can you expect next?

  • By the time your baby is one year old, he or she has learned to sleep through the night, but may still experience a few awakenings. This is normal and happens to many adults!
  • Your child needs at least 11 hours of sleep at night and an average of two naps during the day, for a total of about 14 hours.
  • A well-established routine will help your child fall asleep, so make sure you create the right conditions for your child to fall asleep and keep the same schedule.

Who has ever sleep trained their baby??? HELP ME 🥲😂 I’m going back into the classroom this year and very excited. BUT… baby boy has a horrible sleep schedule for someone teaching. He falls asleep at night around 11 and always wakes up between 1 and 1:30. And stays up to anywhere between 4 and 6 😭

Tbh it's a bit impossible to sleep train a 3month old. They'll begin to sleep thru the night around 6-9 months. However, they won't drop the mid night feedings until around 10 months. I'm 8 months postpartum & some nights I'm up breastfeeding 3-4xz a night. However, we bed-share with our little boy which makes the night feeds easier. I throw my boob in his mouth & go back to sleep or he finds the boob himself & I continue my dreams 😆. We all sleep very well together. Sometimes I have to force myself to get up to pump if he doesn't wake up to feed so my breast don't get each or leak I my bed or get engorged. Sleep when baby is sleep. It's the only sleep you'll get promise you. You haven't seen nothing yet. Just wait til your baby start teething 🤦🏾‍♀️. Sometimes they eat or don't. Sleep or don't for hours. My son has stayed up a full 8hrs before because he was fighting his sleep.

He “sleeps through the night” at the wrong time of morning 😂 he’ll sleep 7-8 hours after finally falling back asleep at 4 or 5am, sometimes even 6! I definitely take advantage of sleeping while he sleeps, that’s the only way I actually manage to stay up with him at those crazy hours 🥴 He’s teething and I thank the Lord it isn’t bad. And my Lord! He had an episode the other day where he also stayed up for 8 hours (still don’t know why) and was just more fussy than normal. Fighting his sleep the entire time! It kind of scared me at first because I didn’t know what was going on. But hopefully we can get something in order soon. Because going to bed at 5 or 6 and having to get up at 6 to get ready for work is going to H E L L 😂😂😭

The fact my son will be 2 weeks tomorrow and has been on pretty much the same sleep routine since day one is a blessing in disguise cause idk how well I’d do being sleep deprived with 3 kids. A 5 1/2 year old, 2 1/2 year old and a new born 😭💯

He was born pretty early wasnt he? Hopefully everything works out and he can come home soon 🥺 my first child spent 2 months in the nicu so I understand the feeling. And my sleeps about 3-4 hours at a time which is good for me because I don’t do well on lil to no sleep lol

Been there. I have 14 month and 3 wk old. My 14 month was breastfed til 13 months. He didn’t want to wean at all. Never took a bottle. We offered cups different ones to see which ones he liked. I fought at night to stop breastfeeding. A lot of crying nights. Had to wear a shirt to cover my chest so he couldn’t smell it as well or see them. We did well with cups. We co sleep as well. I’m working on him sleeping in his crib that’s in our room. He is just more comfortable in our room. Soo once he sleeps the whole night multiple nights in a row then I will move him to his room. But as of now both babies in the room with me. He is realizing the baby breastfeeding more and more but hasn’t done anything
