Baby's Changes Overview
Open 3D Baby to see all changes
  • Growth Spurt: Prepare for a rapid growth phase, with your baby expected to double in size soon. This development is supported by the formation of a protective layer of fat under increasingly elastic and opaque skin.

  • Digestive and Placental Development: Your baby's digestive system begins to function, absorbing sugars through the placenta, which itself is growing more complex to meet nutritional demands.

  • Hearing and Movement: Your baby can hear external noises and is becoming more active. Responses to hot or cold beverages and post-meal activity are common, as are sleep cycles influenced by your movements.

  • Bone and Sensory Development: Bones are hardening, and senses are sharpening. Your baby is practicing breathing with amniotic fluid and starting to explore the environment by touching the umbilical cord and practicing swallowing.

This quiet week in terms of tests is an excellent opportunity to focus on hydration, rest, and preparing for the dynamic weeks ahead as your baby continues to develop at an astonishing pace.

Helping baby's development
  • Avocado for Folic Acid: Avocados are a tasty and versatile source of folic acid, crucial for your baby's brain and spinal cord development. Aim for 600-800 mcg of folic acid daily.

  • Iron from Beans: Incorporate beans and legumes into your diet for their iron content, essential for oxygen transport to your baby. The recommended daily intake is 27 mg.

  • Vitamin D Sources: Seek out vitamin D in fatty fish, egg yolks, and fortified foods to support calcium absorption and bone health. Pregnant women should aim for 600-800 IU daily.

  • Calcium in Cheese: Add cheese to your meals for a boost in calcium, vital for developing strong bones and teeth in your baby. Aim for 1,000 mg of calcium per day.

  • Vitamin C through Smoothies: Utilize smoothies to combine fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C, supporting your baby's skin, bones, and tissue development while aiding iron absorption. The recommended intake is 85 mg of vitamin C daily.

I asked my doctor, and she said I'm doing fine and joked about an 8 lb baby. I was like 🥴, said he wasn't too big or too small, so I guess

What's their c section rate. Go over ur birth plan with them as far as accepting or denying heplocks. If the are supportive of eating and drinking during labor and free movement which is much needed. Intermittent monitoring and water birth. Whatever ur birth plan is. Refusing or limiting cervical checks to decrease chances of infection.

I’m 22 weeks and I have a anterior placenta. Does anyone else have one and when did you start to feel your baby kick and feel it on the outside of your stomach?

I had an anterior placenta and started feelings kicks around 17 weeks and the placenta eventually moved to posterior which Im guessing will happen to you as well! They always move and your uterus still had a lot of growing to do!
