Baby’s Changes Overview
Open 3D Baby to see all changes
  • Immune Function: Your baby is producing white blood cells, essential for fighting off germs and building an immune system.

  • Urinary Development: The fetus has begun to produce urine, marking the start of the excretory system's functionality.

  • Genital Differentiation: The external genitals are now formed, allowing gender identification in some cases through ultrasound.

  • Facial Expressions: Your baby is experimenting with facial muscles, practicing expressions like squinting, pouting, and smiling.

  • Physical Movement: Though not yet perceptible to you, movements like eye motion and limb flexing are becoming more frequent, enhancing motor skills.

  • Skin and Hair Formation: The skin is thickening, and hair follicles are developing beneath the surface, indicating the start of hair growth.

  • Proportional Growth: The baby's body is becoming more proportional, with the intestines moving into the abdomen, a significant step for digestive development.

  • Neural Development: An astonishing rate of over 100,000 new neurons are being created every minute, indicating rapid brain growth.
As you navigate this exciting time, consider beginning a journal or scrapbook to document your pregnancy journey.

Helping your baby's development
  • Maintain Good Hygiene: Regular handwashing can protect against infections that might affect the baby.

  • Pelvic Floor Exercises: Engaging in pelvic floor exercises, like Kegels, supports your body's changing needs and may ease childbirth.

  • Flu Vaccination: Due to increased risk during pregnancy, obtaining a flu shot can safeguard both your and your baby's health.

  • Avoid Harmful Chemicals: Minimize exposure to pesticides, harsh cleaning, and beauty products. Opt for natural ingredient-based products when possible.

  • Cultivate Support Networks: Stay connected with friends and family to bolster your emotional well-being and reduce stress during pregnancy.

What exactly can you feel? Bc I've thought I felt something but not sure. I've been told it's uncommon to feel anything this early and that you usually start feeling movement in weeks 17 to 22. Pls let me know

It could happen. A lot of people get nipt test done and it ends up being wrong when they go in for an anatomy scan. Nipt test is not always accurate

A lot of people have told me I’m not showing, but it might just be my baggy clothes. I don’t have a big bump yet just a small one that’s not very noticeable.

It seems from what you said your baby is only a week and 3 days behind on measurements . I think that’s enough room for it to catch up. Fingers crossed for you hun! Did you discuss this concern with your doctor? If so what did they say?
