Why is nighttime breastfeeding important?

For the first few months after giving birth, your baby will need to nurse both day and night for nourishment and reassurance.

  • On average, your baby will be hungry every three hours. Daytime feedings are easy, but nighttime feeding is not.
  • If your baby associates feeding with sleeping, he'll need to be nursed back to sleep in the middle of the night.
  • You should also know that prolactin production is higher at night, so your milk will be more nourishing for your baby. This is a good reason not to skip the night feed!

Being pregnant and still breastfeeding at night is so rough, it drains all my energy but I’m thankful it’s just at night & hopefully it will come to an end soon. Cause this momma is tiredddddddd

So, my one month old at night is wanting to feed (breastfeeding) constantly...If we can get her to sleep she is fine, but is seems she only sleeps when she is latched on to me and then as soon as I take her off she wakes up wanting to eat again...any advice? Need to sleep lol.

Has your baby ever refused to take the boob but will take a bottle quick? We are 4 months breastfeeding (bottles when she is with gma) & she will take the boob good at night & a little in the morning but after that it seems like she wants a bottle😭

Hello! I have a question for all breastfeeding moms. My 3 month old son has started to sleep most of the night, now. He used to wake up every 2 hours to breastfeed. Now, I am not breastfeeding every 2 hours or pumping at night because he's not waking me up. So, my question is... to avoid a decrease in my milk supply, should I start pumping at night every 2 hours? I've noticed a decrease in my milk ever since he started to sleep more at night. #Help

What are Formula Mom's doing to stock up or planning on doing? I plan on breastfeeding but there's a chance I could need to supplement but the 4 cans I saw on the shelf at Walgreens last night were $30-$50. When my daughter was born in 2018, we paid $14 a can. I needed to supplement with her.

How do I wean my 2 year old from breastfeeding at night? I have tried everything, from dropping sessions during the day to decreasing how long he feeds at night. But he still wakes up 3-4 times during the night to nurse. This mommy and dad are exhausted
