Do alcohol and breastfeeding go together?

If you love fine wines, cocktails, or beer, you'd like to know if you can drink alcohol while breastfeeding without putting your baby at risk. Here's the answer.

  • Rest assured that after 9 months of deprivation, you will be able to drink alcohol again.
  • However, your consumption must remain moderate and follow certain rules.
  • Alcohol passes into your milk between 1 and 3 hours after you drink it, so wait at least 3 hours before breastfeeding to ensure that you can feed your baby safely.
  • Another solution is to express your milk just before drinking alcohol.
  • This is a more flexible solution that allows you to have milk at all times, which can be practical if your baby is hungry before the 3-hour deadline.

Hey y’all so 2nights ago I had two bottles of wine. I started breastfeeding again today but my baby keeps spitting up really bad. Is it bc I still have alcohol system or is it because she is used to bottles and not used to my boob? I need help.

Does the baby’s pediatrician check babies blood at every visit for alcohol or drugs? I’m curious on some moms reasons behind continuing those things while breastfeeding.. Do you still smoke cigarettes or weed while breastfeeding? Why or why not? #nojudgementoverhere

Does anyone still drink alcohol occasionally while breastfeeding? I want to have a slushy with a lil bit of alcohol once in a while.

Any breastfeeding moms that smoke? I know alcohol doesn't last long but I heard thc stays in the supply for a while. I plan on smoking again once I've had my lil one but I'm worried it may affect my breastfeeding routine. In which I won't. Any tips?
