First time mom here. Pros and cons of breast feeding and the best wearable pump. Debating on breast feeding or not

Commenting so I can see answers. I plan on breastfeeding or at least exclusively pumping. I've already gotten some breast pumps: a manual, spectra, ncvi, and the bioboo hug. Mostly because they were on sale for Christmas! I've been wondering what other people like for their wearable pump as well. I watch a lot of tiktok for tips and reviews as well.

I am going to do it this is my third baby my first baby I tried to only breast feed and he was not getting enough milk so I was kind of forced to do formula. My sec baby I breast fed fine and produced to much milk but the one thing I did not like was I could not give him to no one to feed and I had to feed him when I went in stores or when my breast would over flow and hurt. And it sucked cause I was the only one who could feed him and he would cry he would not take a bottle and he only wanted me. So this time around I will breast feed but I will bottle feed too. So daddy or some one els can feed her and I don’t half to feed in the stores. Makes it easier when the baby don’t just want only me and I’m the only one that can feed. Also car rides sucked when my son would be hungry because he would not take a bottle so he would cry and cry and no one could help. Only me

I’m a c section mom and I have no pros to be honest it’s a big process to adjust and I’ll be having my third one soon

I was given the option for c section based off of my first traumatic vaginal delivery. 3rd degree tear. vacuum assist. pushed for 4.5 hours. i don’t wanna do that again, but I also know c section is hard too

To be honest from the videos I’ve seen of women giving birth i would very much rather know what to expect by having a c section

Pros and cons to pumping before birth? I’m 35 1/2 weeks and tried pumping tonight to see if I would produce anything. I actually was able to produce about 30ml. Although now I’m seeing the cons (googling) to doing so…. Anyone who has pumped before birth, opinions?

I thought about pumping my colostrum, but then read that you shouldn't before birth. Idk why. I didn't read that far lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

They say not to pump until your 37 weeks because it can induce labor

I heard the same thing not to pump because they may use that to induce labor.

This has been my hardest thing to decide my whole pregnancy I feel like formula feeding is looked so downed upon and everyone looks at me like I’m being selfish but I’m choosing my mental health over everything I know that I don’t operate well Under stress and your stressed to the max with postpartum and having a new born I want to be able to give my baby the best version of myself I can I’ve realized there’s nothing wrong with formula feeding it doesn’t matter what other people think of you, at the end of the day your baby is fed and healthy regardless of what you choose

Yeah that’s my take on it but I’m worried I won’t lose my baby weight if I don’t breastfeed

Has anyone ever used the Lansinoh breast pump? If so, what are the pros and cons? 😊

I'm using it now. I like that it has the purple band so it doesn't cut into you breast. Finding the right speed and suction is easy. Cleanings the parts is easy. The only con for me is you'll need a breastfeeding bra or you can make one. So you can use your hands.

Pros hearing babies heart whenever you want especially when they move and you have noticed movements slowed down. Cons exactly what happened to you, not being able to hear babies heart beat and freaking out

At your stage you need to be looking for sound very low in the pelvis not your actual belly

I have a Spectra 2 & I LOVE it. It has more options for 'massaging' and for the pumping cycles than any other pump Ive tried: the medela & motif. Totally check and see what you can get through your insurance. Most will get you one for free!

Pros and cons of a midwife? This is my first baby and I am LOST. Google is making me overwhelmed and wanted to know what you ladies recommended/thoughts on previous experiences or if it’s your first birth and what your plan is. Thanks Mammas!

immediate con- no meds. 😂 but other than that, i see no downside. i'm using a midwife for my third now 🥰 pros- complications aside, you are completely in charge. lay down if you want, walk around if you want, do laundry while you wait if you want! the draw for me was not being confined to the bed- with my second, the epidural basically made me a paraplegic which was delightful 🙄 coupled with doctors who refuse to even let you get up, it was an easy sell. i also suffer from back labor with my kids, i'm 2 for 2 so far... and back labor while being confined to your back in a bed is just terrible.

other unintended bonuses- 1) no covid restrictions. hospitals are so particular with what visitors they allow, i couldn't even have my kids come meet their sibling! 2) when you're done, you're literally done. make an appt for the baby, a 6 week for yourself, and then you're good to go. when baby is out, you can get up and shower and do whatever you choose because you are at home with your baby. 🥰
