Benefits of Seaweed during pregnancy

Benefits of Seaweed during Pregnancy 🌱🤰
1. Abundant in Essential Nutrients 🌿💪
Seaweed is a powerhouse of essential nutrients that can provide a significant boost to your overall health during pregnancy.
It is an excellent source of vitamins, including vitamin A, vitamin C, and B vitamins such as folate.
Folate, in particular, is crucial during pregnancy as it helps prevent neural tube defects in the developing fetus.
Additionally, seaweed contains minerals like iodine, iron, calcium, and magnesium, which play vital roles in the growth and development of your baby, as well as maintaining your own well-being.
2. Supports Thyroid Function ⚙️🌊
The thyroid gland plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism and ensuring proper growth and development in both you and your baby.
Seaweed is an exceptional source of iodine, a mineral essential for the healthy functioning of the thyroid gland.
During pregnancy, your iodine requirements increase significantly to support the growth of your baby's brain and nervous system.
Including seaweed in your diet can help meet these increased demands and promote optimal thyroid function, ensuring the healthy development of your little one.
3. Promotes Healthy Weight Management ⚖️🌱
Maintaining a healthy weight during pregnancy is important for both you and your baby's well-being. Seaweed can be a valuable ally in this regard.
It is low in calories and fat while being high in fiber, which helps you feel fuller for longer periods and aids in healthy digestion.
By incorporating seaweed into your meals, you can enjoy its satisfying properties without worrying about excessive calorie intake.
This can contribute to maintaining a healthy weight during pregnancy and reducing the risk of complications associated with excessive weight gain.
4. Enhances Bone Health 🦴🌿
As your baby develops, their demand for calcium increases, and it is important for you to meet this requirement to support their growing bones.
Seaweed contains calcium, magnesium, and other trace minerals that are essential for healthy bone development.
By consuming seaweed regularly, you can ensure that you are providing your baby with the necessary nutrients for strong bones.
Additionally, the high calcium content in seaweed can also help prevent the loss of bone density in expectant mothers, reducing the risk of conditions such as osteoporosis later in life.

Ok so I don’t use much as far as measuring goes. But I pretty much use a bit of dried seaweed (you don’t need much- and I usually make single batches for myself), whatever protein I have, garlic, soy sauce, msg (you could just use salt tho) chili flakes, and udon noodles (or something else- that’s just what I had in my fridge)
