Pregnancy: sore breasts

If the slightest rubbing on your breasts makes you jump, be patient—sore breasts are a common and temporary pregnancy symptom.

First of all, you should know that if your breasts are sore, they won't be the whole pregnancy. This symptom often disappears by the end of the first trimester. Thank goodness for estrogen and progesterone, which are the hormones proliferating in your body, especially during the first few weeks.

The reason for the swelling is simply to prepare your breasts for breastfeeding.

I am 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. My biggest symptom is sore and tender breasts. I have always had larger breasts and now it feels like I’m carrying 2 watermelons constantly. Also, my nipples feel like they are on fire, all of the time! I am also having mild cramps alternating from the left to the right. Anyone else?

I’m having cramps too. Daily. Right in the middle above my pelvic bone. They’re pretty intense but last like 30 mins or so. Sometimes a few times a day, sometimes 1x a day. I’m 5w0d today. I really wanna use a heating pad on low but not sure if it’s safe.

My breasts and nipples aren’t as sore anymore and I’m almost 7 wks pregnant. Is that normal for them to come and go? They were sore this morning and now they are not that sore.

This is my 4th pregnancy but have been completely different than the last 3 like everything is different...my main issue is I have literally had sore breasts since day one can't seem to find a bra that will give me any relief 😮‍💨... My last 3 pregnancies I didn't get sore breasts until the very end

Hi everyone! I’m 8 weeks tomorrow. For the first 7 weeks of my pregnancy my breasts were unbelievably sore. However, recently they have gotten to where they are not as sore as they used to be. Has this happened to anyone else?

My breasts are super sore, very unusual for me. They specifically feel almost bruised towards the inside of them (towards my sternum). Had a BFN this morning but I’ve had the sore breasts, fatigue, lower back pain, had bad cramps (like af) today but they’ve subsided. Anyone else had the symptoms before and ended up being pregnant? Im so eager to test again but after this mornings negative I just don’t want to see another negative😭

Yes I had all those symptoms. Just not very bad cramps. The cramps didn’t feel as bad as period cramps for me.

They weren’t terrible cramps but enough to say hey I’m here if that makes sense. Definitely gone though. Hoping I get a bfp. How many dpo did you test?

If you don’t have the “sore breasts” symptom in pregnancy, does that mean you won’t produce any milk ?? Someone just told me this.. I hope it’s not true

Hi! My wife is 4 weeks pregnant and has recently had nausea, bloating, and sore breasts. Her breasts randomly stopped hurting today. Should we be concerned? Is it normal for symptoms to come and go?

Its very normal for symptoms to come and go. You can always reach out to your doctor but 4 weeks is still so early all they really can do is test get hcg levels every 2 days.

I’m 6 weeks pregnant right now and it’s like new symptoms come and go with me all the time. My doctor said the first trimester is just like that due to the body getting use to a baby growing! Congrats to you both 😊
