How do I know if my baby has a fever?

A feverish baby should never be taken lightly because a fever is a signal that your child's body is on high alert.

  • Use a baby rectal thermometer to take a reliable and accurate temperature reading.
  • If your baby is between 0 and 3 months old and has a temperature over 100,4 °F, see a doctor or go to the emergency room the same day.
  • After 3 months, a baby should be seen by a pediatrician if the fever persists beyond 48 hours.
  • If your baby has difficulty breathing, is drowsy or has a stiff neck, see a doctor immediately.

Does having a fever harm my baby? I’ve heard it can cause an “m” don’t want to say it.. as I fear I’ll jinx something. Will my little boy be okay? I’m 15w3d and just really nervous 😞 anyone ever experience a fever while pregnant??

I had a fever for 2 days in December. It was about 100.7. I took acetaminophen and kept drinking liquids. Been to the ER twice(unrelated) in the past week and munchkin is growing and I heard and saw heartbeat. Don't Google cuz it will freak you out. I just talked to the baby like we will be ok.

Thank you so much for your kind words and helping ease my mind, it’s so hard not to worry as I’ve miscarried once before and it was extremely hard as it would be for anyone but I just worry nonstop praying everyday he’s okay in there 😢

Hey everyone 12 weeks pregnant here and have a fever of 101. It’s not covid but having a hard time bringing the fever down. I’ve taken some Tylenol but is there anything else I can do to help. Really worried about my baby if the fever is going to affect her.

Feeling pretty drained this week. Since baby has had a fever last week, he is more clingy, fussy, constantly wants the boob, and fights sleep more than ever. He seems fine. Fever lasted only a day. I just wish I knew the reason for this behavior.

Your baby is growing and about to hit a growth spurt that explains the fever and none stop eating! ❤️
