Helping baby use the potty

Potty training is great to help your baby transition from diapers to using the toilets.

  • Potty training should be done gently and at each baby's own pace.
  • On average, children begin to control their sphincters around the age of 2.
  • For nighttime potty training, you'll have to wait until 3 or 4 years old.
  • Buy a potty and place it preferably in the toilet or bathroom for privacy.
  • Explain its purpose to your child in simple terms, so that they understand that they're growing up and will soon want to do what grown-ups do.

Usually the doctor uses the amount of wet diapers and poopy diapers to tell if baby is eating enough or if something else is wrong. Sometimes they go through a phase where they hold their calories and don't poop for a day or two because they're growing but they should still pull wet diapers every day at least 4 or 5. Baby definitely needs to get seen if they're only making one a day. They might not be eating enough or have something else going on! ❤️ baby and you are in my prayers hope everything turns out okay ❤️

How do you potty train a 3 year old girl? I tried months ago and nothing. I tried every 30 minutes. Training underwear and bribing with candy or stickers and nothing. So I stopped for a month and recently been trying again, but every time I ask if she needs to go potty or have her try to sit on her potty chair, she tells me no. I'm 27 weeks pregnant with my 2nd girl, too.

So my son is 22 months old, and I've been told that when they take off their diapers that means it's time to potty train, so I've been trying to potty train him, he has a baby toilet, I've tried putting him on it and he will just walk away. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Alright ladies I need some potty training tips for my soon to be 3 year old. He’s been showing the signs for months, knows how to take off and put on his own pull up🤣but everytime I place him on his potty or the training seat in the bathroom he won’t do anything. But as soon as the pull up is back on he does. I’m trying so hard to get him potty trained before the baby comes.

Hey mama, how long do you sit him on seat? And try taking him every hour to the toilet so he can start getting used to it

At least about 5-10 minutes because I don’t want him to get uncomfortable or feel like I’m forcing him to be on it. He urines sometimes in it but most of the time he won’t do anything.

Anybody know any potty training tips that will help me to potty train my son? He is showing multiple signs of being ready. We have bought him some pull ups for when when his diapers are gone, and we bought him a potty training potty a few months ago but he is scared to sit on it, he puts his feet in the bowl part when we try and set him on it.

Having them go to the bathroom whenever you have to go and buying a potty chair for the living room when they are watching tv

Yes we have bought a chair but he sits there and takes the entire thing apart instead of using it the way we show him too. It’s a hassle sometimes

When did you start potty training? I have a toddler that will be 2 on February. But I am also having another baby in January the month before my toddler turns 2. I thought about trying to start potty training now but I'm afraid once the baby gets here she might not do very good bc of the change and seeing me change the babys diapers. Any advice? Should I wait?
