Gestational diabetes screening

If you have any symptoms of fatigue or extreme thirst during your pregnancy, you should be screened for gestational diabetes around the 26th week of pregnancy.

After the glucose intake, we will check how your body reacts during the OGTT test. If the blood sugar level is too high, you will be monitored for gestational diabetes. Your doctor or midwife will advise you to follow a balanced diet throughout your pregnancy.

Had my glucose screening today, and my results were elevated. Now I have to do the 3hr. Test. I have never had any complications with my 1st nor 2nd pregnancies. Feeling a bit defeated today. I am terrified for a gestational Diabetes diagnosis.

They only had orange flavor 😠I took your advice but unfortunately I failed the test Mallory 🥺😞and I only ate one egg Lbvs. But I honestly believe it was the butter that I made with it. Sometimes it can just be the sodium content I’m being told. Which I really can’t believe my sugar level was high at 179 when it should’ve been lower than 140.

27 weeks today. Also, had my 1-hour Glucose Screening test. Very nervous. I was reading that one of the risk factors of having gestational diabetes is PCOS, which I have. Please wish me luck.

I failed mine a couple weeks ago and cried alot and made myself very nauseous because i was stressing about it. I now check my blood sugars 4 x day so far not on medication. Trying to control it without meds. I have days where my numbers are above range and then other days my numbers are below or right in range. I see my OB next week and see what she says about my blood sugars. Im trying my best. Your OB should be sending a referral for you to be seen by a nutrition counselor.

I honestly don’t know lol! My friend told me the fruit punch one is good and she didn’t like the orange. But I hear good things about orange and red the most. Some say orange just taste like an orange Sunkist soda that’s flat lol so definitely choosing one of those if they let me choose

My results came in and I passed the screening for gestational diabetes! I barely did but I had 135mg which is below 139mg so I’m good, big relief cause I did not want to have to deal with that.

Just watch your processed food and sugar intake. Drink more water to help your organs process and function better.

Hello everyone I just had my Gestational diabetes 1 hour screening yesterday. Levels came in to be 134 mg/dL. Are these normal? My doctors not answering and Google is just giving mixed answers. Can anyone share their experience with these levels did they have to go for a 3 hour one? Thanks
