Paternity leave and CPAM benefits
Men are entitled to paternity leave and, under certain conditions, to benefits paid by the CPAM.
- Upon the arrival of a biological or adopted child in the home, an employee may request paternity or foster care leave from his employer.
- This fundamental right is independent of seniority in the company and the type of employment contract.
- However, the duration of the leave is fixed at 11 days. In case of multiple births, the father gets 7 additional days.
- The Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie pays daily allowances according to the number of hours worked and the time of registration before the request.
