Baby's appetite: feeding frequency

Every hour, every 3 hours, on demand… it's tough to determine the right feeding frequency for your baby.

  • First thing to know: how is your baby fed?
  • If you are breastfeeding, don't worry about feeding frequency and give your baby a feed when he or she asks for it.
  • Breastfeeding is an all-you-can-eat treat, so there's no reason to deprive your baby!
  • For formula milk, things are a little more complicated.
  • Formula milk takes longer to digest and requires a certain amount of time between each bottle.
  • That said, during the first weeks, baby's needs are intense and can exceed 8 feedings per 24 hours.
  • So don't stress, just listen to your baby and everything will be fine.

Anybody else sit up and think like damn a little sex 💦 can lead to a whole lot of extra physical changes 🤰🏾😭 like why I can't just get some blinking 🚨 nipples to let me know it's a baby in there? Why the sickness, tiredness, extreme hunger, weight gain, crying over nothing and the Muthafuckin list goes on 😭

So I have a one month old baby girl. She has been a bit fussy and I feel like I’m mistaking a lot of her cries as hunger cries. Every time she cries almost, when someone picks her up, she acts like she is searching for the boob, even if I just fed her. How did you all get each cry down? Like their full diaper cry, their hungry cry, their I just want attention cry, how did you all tell the difference between each cry? Cause like I said I feel like I am mistaking all her cry’s for hungry cries and I think that is the reason she has been having so many stomach aches. Because she will eat for almost 45 minutes, then I will set her in her swing to sleep and about 15 minutes later she will start crying again, and act like she is searching for a boob, so I will feed her again and it will take as long as another 30-45 minutes. So I feel like I am giving her these stomach aches but I have not been able to tell the difference between her cries yet. I feel like I should know the difference by now but I just don’t. Also, how long did it take you all to differ the cries?

Does anyone else get strong hunger pains and not really be that hungry. It must be the baby that's hungry, idk.. lol

My baby literally will not let me over eat to please my hunger , as long as he’s full everything is great 🤣 if I over eat I will literally puke . My son is so stubborn 😩😩

I'm not here to toot my own horn but 🎺🎺 I swear I have the best baby. He doesn't cry. I pretty much know his hunger and tired cues and asses them before he gets fussy. Hes never been sick 👏 He takes naps good and sleeps throughout the night. He sleeps in his own bed. He wakes up laughing and kicking. I think he knew how rough I had it with my ppd so he's being an angel now. Lol I know this good behavior isn't going to last, but I'm soaking it in now. 🥰
