Will I be able to breastfeed in public?

Will I Be Able to Breastfeed in Public? 🤱🌍
As you embark on your breastfeeding journey, you may wonder about the practicality and social acceptance of breastfeeding in public. Rest assured, the world is becoming more inclusive and supportive of breastfeeding mothers.
Let's explore the topic of public breastfeeding and discover how you can confidently breastfeed your baby wherever you go!
Your Rights: Breastfeeding Laws in the United States! ✊🤱
If you're planning to breastfeed in public in the United States, it's essential to be familiar with the laws that protect your right to do so.
The good news is that breastfeeding in public is legally protected across all 50 states.
Here's what you need to know about breastfeeding laws in the US:
  • Federal law: The Affordable Care Act (ACA) includes provisions that specifically protect the rights of breastfeeding mothers. Under the ACA, it is illegal for employers to discriminate against employees who choose to breastfeed.
  • State laws: In addition to federal protection, each state has its own laws regarding breastfeeding in public. While the laws vary slightly, all 50 states have laws that allow women to breastfeed in any public or private location where they have the right to be.
Empowering Yourself: Breastfeeding in Public with Confidence! 💪🌈
While you have the legal right to breastfeed in public, it's natural to feel a bit self-conscious or uncertain at first. Here are some tips to help you breastfeed in public with confidence:
  • Know your rights: Familiarize yourself with the breastfeeding laws in your state to be prepared and informed.
  • Dress for comfort and convenience: Wear clothing that allows for easy access and discreet nursing, such as nursing tops or clothing with hidden openings.
  • Practice in front of a mirror: Practice breastfeeding in front of a mirror at home to perfect your latch and find comfortable positions that allow for discreet nursing.

I’ve seen people be able to start pumping once their baby was born really premature like around 20 something weeks so I’m sure you’ll be able to 😊

I had a breast reduction back in 2012 & it’s hitting me i may be at risk for not being able to breastfeed because i forgot my surgeon said it’s a chance i may not be able to before i got it as part of a non disclosure agreement. At that time i was on some “idgaf” because i didn’t plan on having anymore kids after my 1st born. Now I’m getting sad because here i am 13 years later preggers with my 2nd & i want to breastfeed this one like i did my 1st. I really hope my milk supply does come in 😞

So....I'm planning to breastfeed if I'm able and can produce enough. I have a Bellababy electric breast pump that I've Googled and seems like it will be ok to start off with, but wondering what's a better pump I can invest in?

Okay so I want to breastfeed if possible. I'm on week 13 now and my boobs haven't changed a bit, and also my mom said her and her sisters were not able to breastfeed. What are the chances I'll actually be able to breastfeed my baby? Also is it too early to look into a breast pump? I've been seeing offers for free ones?

Never too early to start looking and Gettimg information. Every woman is different. Just make sure ur eating right and drinking plenty of water. U can always talk with a lactation consultant in your area you can go through WIC you can go through your doctor and they should be able to give you more information on everything

A lot of women are able to start breastfeeding as soon as baby arrives as far as i know. Your body knows when baby has been born bc all the chemicals your brain releases during delivery and tells the girls "alright baby's here, time to FILL UP and FEED!"

Definitely go over breastfeeding with your dr or have a lactation consultant help you out at the hospital with latching and get some tips on increasing lactation bc every woman is different. Can never hurt to get a lactation consult.

After 14 days of breastfeeding my supply just stopped. I am panicking. Should I just accept the fact that I will not be able to breastfeed anymore...I'm looking for recommendations to get my supply back.
