Weight gain during pregnancy, month by month

During pregnancy, there is something that most moms-to-be worry about— weight! Stop thinking about the standards and preconceptions, let's check!

  • During pregnancy, you can eat for two: false! During these nine months, you should gain between 19 and 26 lbs.
  • During the first three months, your weight gain will be small, mainly because of nausea.
  • In the second trimester, weight gain accelerates, especially with the famous "cravings".
  • By the 6th month, you should have put on 16 lbs.
  • In the last trimester, count 3.3 lbs per month.

If you are worried, don't hesitate to talk to your midwife or obstetrician, who will give you a diet adapted to your pregnancy.

I was 107 and ended up to 150. I worked out everyday of my pregnancy unless I had a doc appointment that day. I also didn’t give in to my cravings and if I did I would walk 4 miles. I still gained so much weight and I made food at home. It’s just how your body is. And if you do gain weight it’s ok, it’s more cushion for the baby. Just ask your doc if you’re on track

How much weight did you guys gain throughout your pregnancy? I’m a little concerned that I’m gaining too much weight 😔 I’m short and small for the most part my prepregnancy weight was 134. I currently 168pounds.

I’ve gained 7 & I’m only 5 months. I don’t feel like I overeat. I’m nauseous most of the time, but good for you, I never gained only 2 in any of my pregnancies lol

Can we talk about weight gain ? I’ve gained 11 lbs and I’m in my 8th month. My doctor makes it seems like I’ve gained so much weight. 🥺 this is my first so I’m not sure what “normal” weight gain is during pregnancy. Like I’m sure all the fluid and the baby it’s self is not light.

Thats crazy!!! With my last pregnancy I gained 41 pounds total! I had gestational diabetes though but my doctor didn't make me feel bad about it and my first pregnancy I gained like 30. This one I've gained 16 and that's not a lot!

I weighed 105 at 5’5 before pregnancy so I was considered an unhealthy underweight. I’ve gained about 28 pounds now and I’m about 23 weeks, I think after 6 months to a year postpartum your body will go back to your normal weight. I am loving having an ass and boobs now 🤣 I’ve never had much of them before.

Everyone is different. At my office they said if you’re overweight gaining 12-25 pounds in normal and then if you’re a healthy weight gaining up to 30 was normal. I know the baby doesn’t start packing on weight until 25/26 weeks so you’ll probably gain more soon 😃
