Postpartum anemia

Anemia affects many women, especially after childbirth. How do you deal with this chronic iron deficiency?

  • Postpartum anemia occurs when your hemoglobin levels are below 110 g/L one week after delivery and below 120 g/L eight weeks after delivery.
  • This condition is often associated with severe blood loss or a diet low in iron.
  • The main symptoms are extreme fatigue, unusual paleness, palpitations, and dizziness.
  • Sometimes, diet alone is not enough to make up for the deficiency, so supplements are required.

There’s a prenatal that includes an iron supplement… I haven’t started it yet but need to… Tea can decrease your iron intake… Eat spinach, iron fortified cereals, nuts and seeds, broccoli… etc

Did anybody else have anemia while pregnant? I’m worried if anyone had problems with low weight at birth and pre term labor as a result of their anemia? Should I get iron supplements?

Does anyone have mild anemia in third trimester and how much iron did doctor reccomened you take? Mine is so mild and borderline and my doctor said to take 65Mg/135Mg when my prenatals already have 27MG in them. I was wondering if anyone else is taking iron for mild anemia and how much?

Very true, only God can help that much than the words of doctors..! He has the final say, just be praying about it and trust God. Surely, you will conceive..!
