How to eat well during your pregnancy?

As long as your baby is in your belly, he or she is nourished by what you eat and drink, which is why it is important to eat as well as possible.

  • It's up to you to provide your baby with everything he or she needs to develop properly: vitamins, proteins, good fatty acids, and minerals.
  • You've been told many times that you need to eat a healthy, balanced diet, and this advice is even more critical for pregnant women!
  • You should also know that your nutritional needs will increase as your baby grows, so you will have a bigger appetite.

Don't eat twice as much, eat twice as well!

I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant and since then I totally lost appetite as it's been hard keeping the food down, nausea all day everyday and have no desire to think about food because as I became too sensitive to smell anything. My tummy has been taking mostly fruits and smoothies and some salads but I know I needed more than that.. Nothing cooked food. I was wondering if I should take more supplements like super greensband some protein powder (prego friendly) to atleast help with nutrition in which I hope it gets better in time 🙁

I supplement with original ensures. They help a lot when I can't stomach any food.

To mommies out there with gestational diabetes, I have been tracking my nutrition the past two weeks along with glucose levels. My fasting level is at right around the 95 mark and after meals under the 140 level. My nutritionist is recommending me to go on medication since the past week I recorded two mornings of fasting a couple of points over 95 and one meal after having over the recommendation for carbs it was 5 points high. I feel like I’ve been working so hard to literally completely change my diet and I feel like it’s pretty managed at this point and I don’t want to go on medication at all. #gestationaldiabetes #stress

My fastings numbers are above 95 everyday almost and i tried asking my OB when she wanted know about the high numbers but she wants to see the entire picture first and i will see her Thursday morning and see what she says my levels after meals I feel like i have them controlled for the most part but still have my days when they are above range and some times under ranged.

Yeah I’m definitely going to talk about it with my ob before I go to the endocrinologist. Like I just checked my fasting number this morning and it was above, but it’s a long gap between me eating last at night and then when I eat in the morning. She said that could effect my fasting numbers too. This is so nerve wrecking.

I’m a trained culinary & health consultant, currently gaining a MS in clinical nutrition as well as an herbalist. I also have ulcerative colitis and have continued taking boswellia for my flare up. My OB had no clue what it was but told me to stop taking it and to refer to my GI specialists advice… which was anti-inflammatory meds and steroids… which 1) I can get through food and 2) I can’t take while pregnant. This is why I moved into integrative medicine 😒

Hi Ladies! 👋 I'm new here. Found out I'm pregnant about 3 weeks ago. This would be my first pregnancy. Though I'm very scared I'm also excited at the same time. I follow my Nature Cycle app and from what is says I'm due June 8,2023 two days after my husband's birthday!🎂 🥳 I'm apparently 8 weeks now, but probably 7 and I haven't vomit just yet but I've been having hot flashes, hives, and feeling lightheaded with extreme nausea. Crazy food aversion. Its been hard to eat anything right now. I'm so hungry at times that when I eat, it rejects everything. The only foods it seems to be ok with are fruit smoothies, eggs (boiled, fried or scrambled) oatmeal and cereal, greek yogurt and rice with beans. I feel so lost and bad that I'm not providing better nutrition for the baby. #firsttrimester #firstpregnancy

My 1st pregnancy was so lovely & easy even though I was by myself.😔😔 There are SEVERAL food shelves, A free women's clinic for expecting mothers who offer free ultrasounds, free nutrition classes with workers from the WIC office & a baby store with brand new EVERYTHING that only excepted tickets you earned from going to the classes, Several community centers & churches that had everything you needed too. & the churches go around tapping homemade knitted beanies & gloves for babies & kids at all the parks, & they will LITERALLY send a check to your landlord to pay your rent if you need it. And don't get me started on the hospitals! Clean ASF, pleasant staff & bomb a** food🤞😋😋❤❤❤

Went to our wic appointment today and we are officially back on the pregnancy wic after much delay! I am so very blessed and thankful for it so I know that I will be able to afford the proper nutrition for my sweet babies while I’m out of work. I know my hubby can financially take care of us, but I still wanted a way to help and take some stress off of him. Plus if I am not able to breastfeed like I plan, I’ll be able to get assistance with formula. Is any other mommy on wic? 💖💖💖💖💖

To all my Morning sickness mommas: I love BOOST! You may not have much of an appetite due to nausea, heartburn or just the general feeling of fullness. Drinking Boost while pregnant can help you meet your nutrient needs without making you feel too full. Nutrition drinks like Boost, are safe and healthy to drink during pregnancy if you have a poor appetite

I have been dehydrated 4 times this pregnancy the er refused to give me fluids. I have HG and I swear these boost drinks are a life changer. Drank one last night I sipped at it and I still felt nausea but I have HG I can't keep food ir drinks down but this drink stayed down. It's high in protein and really good for baby if your not eating normally
