Baby's Changes Overview
Open 3D Baby to see all changes
  • Eye and Hair Color: The pigmentation of your baby's eyes and hair is developing, with final colors to be determined months after birth.
  • Skin Changes: The shedding of the vernix caseosa signifies your baby's skin is preparing for its debut.
  • Lung Maturity: The production of surfactant in the lungs is increasing, vital for your baby's first breaths.
  • Vocal Cord Development: Your baby's cries and wails, soon to be heard, indicate fully developed vocal cords.
  • Positioning for Birth: Many babies move into the pelvic area, gearing up for delivery.
  • Fingernail Growth: Your baby's fingernails have formed, requiring gentle trimming after birth.

Reaching the end of prematurity at 37 weeks is a key milestone in your pregnancy journey. It means your baby has matured enough to thrive outside the womb with minimal or no medical assistance. This is a time of celebration and anticipation, as we prepare for the safe and exciting arrival of your little one.

  • Promote Optimal Positioning: Regular walks can encourage your baby's head to settle into the pelvis, potentially facilitating a smoother labor process.
  • Prenatal Exercise: Incorporate squats into your exercise routine to prepare your pelvis for a more efficient delivery.

My baby boy was born 37 weeks and 2 days. Weighed 6lbs and 11oz. And he was perfectly healthy. Just really sleepy and not wanting to eat like he would've if he was born at 38-40 weeks.

I'm getting induced tomorrow. I'll be 37 weeks. What did your GD babies weigh at 37 weeks? Mine was estimated 7.6 lbs 2 weeks ago. I'm worried I won't be able to birth naturally
