What is exclusive breastfeeding?

When you decide to breastfeed your baby exclusively, you are practicing what is called exclusive breastfeeding. Here are some details:

  • According to the World Health Organization, exclusive breastfeeding optimizes the development of a baby's immune system.
  • It can be practiced from the first hour after birth until six months of age. During this time, your milk covers all your baby's nutritional needs. After that, it is recommended that you supplement.
  • Studies show that breastfeeding also benefits the health of the mother.
  • Many mothers do not breastfeed for various personal reasons and still have very healthy children.

Iโ€™m an exclusive breastfeeding mom and i normal just pump to relieve pressure. Today my right side has been hurting. I want to cry when anything touches it. I donโ€™t know what to do to make it stop hurting. I have pumped and I get some about 2-3 oz. Please help.
