Childbirth: how do you know when you are in labor?

As a first-time mom, you may be worried about whether you can tell the difference between true and false labor. Don't panic, just follow the guide.

  • Your contractions will be painful and regular.
  • They will first appear every 30 minutes, becoming more and more intense and longer, from 15 seconds to sometimes a minute.
  • Then, these contractions will get closer together, every 5 minutes on average, lasting 30 to 45 seconds each.
  • Some moms-to-be break their water. It can be sudden or constant, sometimes leaking for several hours.
  • In all cases, painful and regular contractions or water loss should lead you to the maternity ward where you will be taken care of by the midwives who will carry out a complementary examination.

This is my second day wanting anything with jalapenos on it. I'm about to eat crackers , cheese and jalapenos. Been scared cause I heard spicy foods could send me into labor at 35 WKS. ( Not sure if it's true)

How did you experience your delivery? My delivery was unexpected but I think it would be expected if things worked out accordingly. What I mean by that is I think I experience one hour of divliery with my frist child but I believe my "true labor contractions" was for many hours. I hated my experience and how I was treated. No one record my divliery and I only have two photos of me with my child on my chest. The only people who treated me so kindly was my fiancé, the medics and firefighters. I hated being pregnant and my experience having my baby be born surrounded by people who don't respect me just put the icing on the cake 🍰👌

Is it true that nausea means that labor is near because that’s what my mom had told me and I have been nauseous since last night and it has not gone away all day…. I’ve also had some cramping whenever I stand up in the pelvic area along with some looser stools (not diarrhea exactly).

Symptom spotting I never had this before any ladies experience this before labor. I was reading it could be a sign but idk how true it is. I’m 37 weeks and out of no where started feeling like I was going to throw up. Along with feelin like I have to poop but I don’t and feeling extremely tired I almost fell asleep in the tub. Any insight ladies had any one had these symptoms shortly before they went in to labor ? It hit me like a wave!
