Hair coloring and pregnancy: be careful

During pregnancy, you want to feel beautiful, tame your new body, and take care of yourself. Hair coloring is an unavoidable beauty treatment for you and you wonder if it is a good idea during your pregnancy?

During the first trimester, it is strongly advised not to use chemical hair coloring, which can be harmful to the baby.

After this period, the most important thing is to opt for ammonia-free hair dyes and to space out the applications. But pregnancy can also be an opportunity to switch to vegetable dye, which is softer and just as effective.

So I’m a natural red head, me and my bd have red heads in our family, but my bd’s hair color is dark brown so what hair color do y’all think she’s gonna have?

In my experience the red has come out over everything. We don’t have red heads in my family or my husbands. Only his beard has a tint of red and his dads hair has a tint of red but both my babies are red; strawberry blonde and an auburn (as of right now but seems to redden up as she’s gotten older)

I dyed my hair for senior pics! Do it somewhere ventilated so you don't breathe in the chemicals from the dye but it should be all good

I’ve been told you can get your hair done but can’t get bleached or go blonde blonde cause they don’t want it hitting your scalp

I did it in my pregnancies before. Its fine. They don't recommend bleaching though since it's more toxic.

My baby shower isn’t even until January, but I want to chose a hair color that can stay with me until birth, something very bright and vibrant like my pink when I had it.

I have been debating on dying my hair before baby girl gets here. I just worry if it's safe for her bc I have always heard not during pregnancy. But I need to get rid of these grey's 🤦🏻‍♀️

I definitely say talk to your OB about it, my OB personally said it’s safe because chemicals in dye aren’t the same as they were a while ago and there’s no study that proves dye harms baby but I definitely feel like it’s a personal choice and to talk to your OB about their views on it. First time I bleached and dyed hair was at 10 weeks and now again at 22 weeks but I also stayed in a well ventilated area with a mask so I didn’t inhale or keep the dye on my hair super long and she’s still doing good 💕

I made something using my son and baby girls ultrasound. My son had blonde hair yet me and his daddy have dark hair (mine having a red tent to it) I wonder what color hair she will have. He was breached so I had to have a c section and this one Dr said plan for a c section. 9m so happy.

Has anyone else ever use semi- permanent hair color while pregnant? There’s no solution developer - & it’s essentially just staining your hair rather than using chemicals to change the chemical compound. I’ve read that I should not worry bI’mwondering if I should just use it or continue with my ugly faded out color haha HALP 😬

My doctor said it's okay! Just keep the room ventilated. I use permanent.
