When do the painful contractions appear?

Like most moms-to-be, you probably dread the pain of contractions. When do they start?

  • Throughout your pregnancy, you will experience contractions that are usually painless and irregular.
  • The first contractions occur around the 4th month and help the fetus position itself head down in your uterus.
  • The most painful contractions are the ones that precede childbirth. They dilate the cervix and prepare the baby for birth.
  • However, some women experience painful contractions early, so talk to your doctor.
  • Don't worry, there are several tips to relieve painful contractions!

If it's getting stronger each time than it's most likely labor

It's more than likely labor if they're coming back and are stronger. You don't have to lose your mucus plug or your water break for you to go into labor. Contractions are a sign of early labor. I'd keep timing them for an hour and if they don't go away go to labor and delivery ❤️❤️

Has anyone experienced something similar to this. constant contractions for over 24 hours? Basically every 5-10 minutes I feel a contraction 1-3 pain level. No back pain only lower and upper abdomen. I don’t see it being labor, just that my Braxton hicks were never all day and were only uncomfortable so this feels different.

If you're having contractions that close together you need to go to the hospital

Yes, but it was early on in my pregnancy 3 months. Went to ER and they had no clue and sent me home. No discharge or anything. Then it went away. Started Friday 5pm and ended Sunday at 9am 🤷🏾‍♀️

Please don’t laugh, but I’ve never Experience feeling natural contractions I’ve always been induced… what’s the difference between just pressure pain & contraction pain? (I already called my dr & left a message. Waiting for them to call back) but I’m only gonna be 35 weeks as of tmr.

So I was induced my first child but my second I went into labor on my own. And at first I thought it was just her moving in an uncomfortable spot and my stomach was getting tight. Literally for an hour. I was just trying to go back to sleep. But then I realized shoot it’s not getting better and it’s doing it a lot, I’m in labor. So I would say if it happens every 10-15 min and the pain is getting worse then u for sure need to go in. There’s a “rule” but I’m not too familiar with it. I just went in because it was getting worse and I realized I was in labor lol. I’m 33 weeks right now and I have Braxton hicks already. But it’s not constant and it doesn’t get worse.

I was induced with all 4 children. You’d think my body would know what to do. But after being two weeks late with my last 3 it sure didn’t. Now my 5th I’m praying I can go into labor on my own but I’m going to assume I won’t.

Everytime I take a bath or shower while having contractions they stop 😩 Maybe try walking or doing some pregnant exercises on YouTube If you have stairs walk up & down them

Could probably be ligament pain. Depending on where the pain is.

A regular contraction will Hurt a lot more Than a Braxton Hicks. So you should know the difference If it's not an Unbarring pain Then it's most likely Braxton Hicks
