Hello everyone. I made this page because my daughter is pregnant for the first time and I wanted to go through this with her. I have a question about delivery. She lives 5 hours away and I have to take time off of work. Im getting so many different answers and I want to be there for the delivery. It's super hard to say since it's her first. You may want to talk to your boss and see if they can be flexible

Didn’t find out the sex until delivery. Last baby born 3 days before my own birthday. Had a smooth delivery with only 2 pushes but won’t lie and say an epidural was regrettable A LITTLE the healing was a lot faster this time. #virgobaby #icandrinkformybirthday #babynumer2 #myrainbowbabynumber2

Lol I love torturing ppl so it was definitely “if you like dark humor you’d like doing this” I was even surprised. I swore we had a boy!! But either way I’m just glad to not be pregnant and I can finally enjoy this baby

Anyone ever went to get an ultrasound and based on baby measurements, your gestation date increased or decreased by a few days? My expected delivery date went from October 11 to October 7th

Me!! They told me baby girl was measuring 3 or 4 days behind early on. Then later in the pregnancy she was measuring 2 weeks ahead

i am currently 32 weeks pregnant. when it’s time for my delivery, i only want my boyfriend in the room and a day or two to ourselves to spend time with our baby but i have 2 of my family members already inviting themselves to see my baby as soon as i give birth or be there for the delivery which i don’t want because i know for a fact i won’t get my baby back anytime soon. i told them that i want a few days with my newborn to myself but they called me selfish knowing they are being selfish due to their excitement. i will just have to tell the nurses no visitors while im in labor.

Be selfish! They need to respect your wishes regardless of their excitement. If you tell the nurse no one can come in.

Has anyone pumped before their delivery? I have 2 surgeries after delivery. One to get my tubes removed and one for varicose veins. I want a milk supply incase the anesthesia messes with it. I was wandering how to get milk flowing. I tried pumping today and all I got was sore nipples. Any tips?

You’ll want to wait to pump
Until at least 37 weeks when you’re full term. Nipple stimulation can send you into labor. Use a warm compress and massage before trying to pump. Also make sure the flange is the right size for your nipples. Pumping ultimately shouldn’t hurt but it definitely is an adjustment. If it’s your first baby it might take a little bit before your milk/colostrum kicks in and that’s typically once the placenta detaches so basically once you give birth.

it's My 3rd. And ya I never had milk until after I delivered.
I wasn't sure if I could stimulate it quicker. Just for the simple fact of surgery. I really want to breastfeed again. But scared I won't be able to bc of the surgeries.

I’m currently 35wks & got the ok to start because I’m having baby at 37wks. I haven’t really gotten anything out. I will be having a cyst removed after baby is out and wanted to have something ready for him. But it looks like he’ll start off on formula until I can breastfeed.

Ok update: I came in to be monitored at 12:30 for 3 hours now I’m getting sent to labor and delivery. They don’t know if my baby grabbed the umbilical cord a few or it’s wrapped around something. I’m so scared y’all

Aww my daughters cord was wrapped and I elected to do c section instead of then trying to induce and it end up being an emergency one. Everything was smooth and easy your in good hands mama don't worry

I plan to exclusively pump & give bottles to my baby. but what do you do if your milk takes a few days to come in after delivery? do you supplement for formula for a few days or what? and how do you know what formula a newborn will take? i’m stressing about this one. i’m just worried he won’t be getting enough out of me the first few days. I do plan on still pumping right after he’s born but I want to make sure he’s fed enough.

Yes what u said. Babies need to get.feed. they have formula at the hospital and my personal opinion is you should have some at.home to supplement. Maybe the hospital can send you home with some? Yeah its perfectly Normal for milk to not come to for a few days maybe a week

Still give baby your boob he/she can pull the colostrum… he/she wouldn’t need a lot being that their stomach is soo tiny … the more u allow them to breastfeed within 4 days your milk will come
