What is an anterior placenta?

During pregnancy, the placenta is located in the uterine cavity. Within the uterine cavity, it can be placed in various positions. The anterior placenta is one of them.

  • During your pregnancy, the placenta will move upwards and place itself at the bottom of the uterus.
  • Different medical terms are used to describe the position of the placenta within the uterus.
  • If your gynecologist calls it anterior placenta, it means that it is in the front.
  • Whether it is in the front or the back (posterior) does not cause any complications. As long as it is not too close to the cervix (low-lying placenta), you have nothing to worry about.

And he’s been moving frequently. Anterior means it’s in the correct spot from what the doctor has told me

I have an anterior placenta and I’m 20 almost 21 weeks. If y’all have that when did y’all first feel your baby’s movement. (My placenta is on the outside of my uterus they didn’t give me a name of what it’s called so I’m assuming it’s a anterior placenta. )

Made my appointment yesterday and baby girl doing so good 💕💕. I found out I have an anterior placenta so I won’t feel her that well in the front. Does anyone else have an anterior placenta and is able to feel their baby normally?

Has anyone had anterior placenta then the next pregnancy is posterior placenta? I have a posterior placenta now and omg it's like I can feel everything. The pressure is so unbearable 😭. When I had anterior placenta I couldn't feel contractions. I've had c sections and they all came early. Is it possible to have a early delivery happen on it's own

My first two pregnancy I had an posterior placenta & this time I have a anterior placenta . My question is has anyone still been able to have a natrual birth? She was breech at her anatomy scan . I know she has plenty time to move but has anyone had babies not turn due to an anterior placenta.

I have anterior and my pregnancy has been healthy through and through. She went head down around 25-ish weeks if I remember correctly. Anterior shouldn’t effect anything pregnancy or delivery wise!

Has anyone ever had a anterior placenta? I went for a 4D ultrasound and the lady told me that I had a anterior placenta.

I did with my first son. It just means your placenta is in the front. You may feel movement later and not as intense as a posterior placenta. It shouldn't cause any issues

I have an anterior placenta. I didn't think this would ever happen. I'm 24+5 and a little on the fluffier side pre-pregnancy. Don't lose hope, mommas with anterior placentas.

I rush to the ER a few weeks ago because I couldn't feel my baby move and they told me that I could have anterior placenta but now I feel her moving when she feels like moving and they said to talk to your obgyn about getting tested for it

Maybe get a Doppler so you can atleast hear the heartbeat. Cause I read with anterior placenta it’s hard to fee movements

So I’m almost 21 weeks. This is my 4th pregnancy, and I have an anterior placenta. I’ve never had one before and I’m nervous. I’ve been googling 😬 and it says you have a higher chance of c section with having an anterior placenta.. is there anyone on here who’s had an anterior placenta before?

Going through that now praying mines move up from my cervix because I don't want no csection either.

Mine isn’t on my cervix thankfully. But I’m still worried because on google it says depending on the baby’s position at delivery you could need a c section if their positioning isn’t right. So I’m just worried. I’ve never had an anterior placenta before

It’s when the placenta is attached to the front wall of the uterus. So basically it makes it harder for moms like me to feel baby movements compared to others because it’s like a pillow between baby & my belly😣
