The Truth About Sugar

The Truth About Sugar
The good news is that sugar is not the enemy, but it's important to be mindful of your sugar intake.
Why is Sugar Intake Important During Pregnancy?
Excessive sugar intake during pregnancy can lead to gestational diabetes, a condition in which high blood sugar levels develop.
Gestational diabetes can cause complications for both the mother and baby, including preeclampsia, preterm birth, and high birth weight.
How Much Sugar Should You Consume During Pregnancy?
The American Heart Association recommends no more than 6 teaspoons (24 grams) of added sugar per day for women, but during pregnancy, you can have up to 9 teaspoons (36 grams) per day.
That's roughly the amount of sugar in a can of soda or a small slice of cake.
However, it's not just about the amount of sugar you're consuming but also the types of sugar.
Added sugars found in candy, soda, baked goods, and other processed foods should be avoided as much as possible.
Tips for Managing Sugar Cravings During Pregnancy
It's common to experience cravings during pregnancy, and there's nothing wrong with indulging in your favorite sweet treats every once in a while.
However, it's important to do so in moderation.
Here are some tips for managing your sugar cravings during pregnancy:
  • Keep healthy snacks on hand: Stock up on fruits, nuts, and other healthy snacks to satisfy your sweet tooth without indulging in sugary treats.
  • Drink water: Sometimes, thirst can be mistaken for hunger or cravings. Drinking plenty of water can help you stay hydrated and curb your cravings.
  • Exercise: Exercise can help reduce stress and improve mood, which can help reduce cravings for sugar and other unhealthy foods.
  • Avoid triggers: Identify the situations or foods that trigger your sugar cravings and try to avoid them as much as possible.
  • Get support: Talk to your partner, friends, or family members about your cravings and ask for their support in making healthy food choices.

I guess its a crime to be honest and tell the truth to some people instead of sugar coating it. If your baby daddy can't see the value in you and yal baby don't be running around focus on him and what he has going on more than your baby that's to much energy to give a person who doesn't give a shit about you stop being delusional and thinking otherwise JS.
