Stay Away From Toxins

Stay Away From Toxins
Exposure to toxins and toxic chemicals during pregnancy can be harmful, so it's essential to take precautions to protect yourself and your little one.
Here are some tips to help you stay safe and healthy during this special time 🤗
Avoid Certain Foods and Drinks
Some foods and drinks can contain toxins or chemicals that are harmful to you and your baby.
These include:
  • Raw or undercooked meat, poultry, and fish
  • Unpasteurized dairy products, including milk and cheese
  • Raw eggs or foods containing raw eggs, such as homemade Caesar dressing or cookie dough
  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine in excess
Make sure to read food labels carefully, and if you have any doubts about the safety of a particular food or drink, avoid it.
It's also a good idea to talk to your healthcare provider about any dietary concerns you may have 👩🏽‍⚕️
Be Careful with Household Products
Many household products contain toxic chemicals that can be harmful to you and your baby ⚠️
These include cleaning products, pesticides, and certain types of paint.
To reduce your exposure to these toxins:
  • 🌱 Use natural cleaning products, such as vinegar and baking soda
  • 🧤 Wear gloves and a mask when using cleaning products or pesticides
  • 🪟 Open windows and use fans to improve ventilation when using these products
  • 🎨 Avoid painting or remodeling during pregnancy, or make sure the area is well-ventilated if you must
If you have any questions about the safety of a particular household product, don't hesitate to ask your healthcare provider.
Watch Out for Toxins in DIY Projects
As you prepare for your baby's arrival, you may be excited to decorate their room with cute and creative DIY projects 🥰
However, it's important to be mindful of the materials you use.
Some paints, adhesives, and fabrics may contain toxic chemicals that can be harmful to you and your baby ☝🏼
To reduce your exposure to these toxins:
  • Use low-VOC or no-VOC paints, which emit fewer fumes
  • Use natural adhesives, such as glue made from flour and water
  • Choose fabrics made from natural fibers, such as cotton or wool, instead of synthetic materials
Again, if you have any questions about the safety of a particular DIY project, talk to your healthcare provider.
Protect Yourself from Environmental Toxins
Toxins can also be present in the air, water, and soil. To protect yourself and your baby from environmental toxins:
  • 🚪Stay indoors when air pollution levels are high
  • 💧 Filter your drinking water, or use bottled water if your tap water is not safe
  • 🎨 Avoid exposure to lead, which can be found in old paint, plumbing, and soil
  • 🐟 Avoid exposure to mercury, which can be found in certain types of fish
Remember to talk to your healthcare provider about any concerns you may have about toxins and toxic chemicals.
They can provide guidance and help you make informed decisions about your health and the health of your baby.

My acid reflux is starting to act up as well, and I’m only about 18 weeks 🤦🏾‍♀️ do you take any type of medication for it, or kind of just change up your diet?

Silk presses don't involve chemicals. It's a straightening technique. That consists of shampooing , a blow out, & press. It's safe I get them.
