Beliefs related to postpartum depression
Postpartum depression is still often misunderstood and carries misconceptions. Here are some myths.
- "You can't be affected by postpartum depression," which is not true, as all women who have just given birth can be affected.
- "I feel this way because I don't love my baby," which is also false because the love is there but it's suppressed by other feelings.
- "Postpartum depression is like baby blues," which is false because baby blues occur right after delivery, whereas postpartum depression begins the second week after the birth of your baby.

I am 6 weeks post partum and I feel like I am in a oven I get alot of hot flashes and night sweats...anyone else?

Sounds totally normal to me! I was the same way I kept complaining to my husband saying why am I still in pain why cant I do the stuff I usually could do! I expected to bounce back right after my first baby but no I'm about 3 weeks PP and I still feel exhausted and pain in certain areas! Depending on the kind of pain your talking about 3 or 4 days PP after vaginal birth sounds pretty normal to me!!
