What is postpartum depression?

Within 2 to 8 weeks after giving birth, you may feel a deep sense of despair and guilt. This may be postpartum depression.

  • Postpartum depression is not the same as baby blues, which occurs within 3 days of giving birth.
  • You feel exhausted and discouraged or disappointed in your relationship with your baby
  • Sports, friends, and time for yourself are also a way to alleviate postpartum depression
  • Contact your doctor or a therapist, who will listen to you and offer to work with you to share your feelings.

So frustrated. Went to the doctor's office to try to reinstate my depression/anxiety meds for postpartum so I didn't have to worry about it. Was told to use visualization and the power of positive thinking for postpartum depression. I'm HERE because my depression was horrible during pregnancy. Why didn't you just tell me before I made the appointment to just wait?!

Omg no... Go to a different doctor immediately. Don't play with postpartum depression. Keep going and speaking up til someone listens.

If it don’t last longer than 8 weeks than it’s just the baby blues !!! It’s hard but make sure you still take time for yourself every day even if it’s only 5-10 minutes !! Also it’s 100% okay to ask for help whenever you need it ! Eat well and step outside a few times a day ! You got this mama 🤍🤍

Yes for sure I had very bad postpartum depression and anxiety to the point where I had to quit breastfeeding because it was making me feel like I wanted to hurt my baby even though I would never do that it was an awful feeling for sure

Take a deep breath. Get some fresh air. Maybe take a walk. Think about the positives in your life. Do you have people or someone to vent to? You can message me if you need to. Speak to your doctor. Remember that your baby's need you. I'm praying for you. 🙏🏼
