What are the baby blues?

If you're feeling teary-eyed and don't know why, or deeply melancholy when your baby is close by, it could be the baby blues.

  • Don't feel guilty if you feel this way. Childbirth is an important time for you, but also for your hormones, which are going through a period of change.
  • Many American women experience the baby blues
  • This little depression never lasts long and can disappear as quickly as it appeared
  • The maternity ward team is there to listen to your feelings, so don't hesitate to talk to them.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for dealing with the baby blues? I cry every single day over little things, I worry constantly, I constantly feel like I’m screwing up and blame myself when things go wrong, even tiny things. I love my baby boy so much and I’m so happy and grateful he’s here but I can’t shake the not so great feelings.

Mommy it sounds beyond the baby blues. It actually sounds like you are having a little postpartum depression. Talk to your OB about it. Your baby is beautiful 😍. How many weeks postpartum are you?

Baby blues is kicking my butt. I really want my bd right now I can’t keep doing this alone without him. I just want him to hold me and rub my stomach right now n tell me everything going to be okay. Am I the only one that feels this way cause they doing it by themselves?

Girl, you gotta be strong. Sounds to me like he don’t deserve to be doing any of that for you nor is he trying to, unfortunately. I did it by myself with my second son while he had two other woman pregnant. You are worth more than that and just think to yourself the bs he is putting you through right now with stress and leaving you there High and dry pregnant with his baby. Sorry you have to deal with this, but soon you won’t need it “want” him around because you’ll be too busy being a mama.

2 days postpartum and I have the “baby blues” real bad. Randomly just outburst of my crying, it’s so relieving to cry though. I honestly just think that I’m actually terrified of being a mommy, I just want to be perfect for my baby girl.

Baby blues are so difficult, I don’t feel like myself at all. Can anyone explain why I feel like I’m having an out of body experience every day. Is it the overwhelming of emotions, the crying, or the sleepless nights? Please somebody help me

I hate it as well. Sometimes distracting myself works watching a show or getting on tiktok. But it does fade away I went from crying like 5 times a day to 1. It’s horrible but it will pass. Just remember you’re a great mom and you’re doing a great job ❤️

My therapist said I have the worst baby blues. I don't disagree she also said it's postpartum psychosis. I do have a history of borderline personality disorder, I am not okay...

omg I have all the same symptoms but mine is rare anxiety where I pass out anywhere. It's been horrible now I feel lost. If that makes sense, like one of my peoples is in a different place. Where I'm someone else taking care of two boys.

Day 5 of new baby and feeling the baby blues hard. I feel like I've cried all day. Any tips for how to get through the lows? Reaching out to all new moms who are feeling this way ❤️

I was that way the first week. And still have moments here and there. My nugget will be 3 weeks tomorrow. All I can say is let yourself feel for a bit. Then soak up that sweet baby of yours! Trying to brush off any emotions (even the lows) only makes it tougher. Good luck mama 💕

Mama been there with my first I almost ended my life in 2 weeks of him being in the world. It was so bad. Just feel you, once you feel upset write or draw or play games distract yourself. Mine was sleeping around and smoking weed and spending time with my first. Than I would work at night. It is hard mama I know but you can do it.
