Feeding your baby at 4 months

At 4 months of age, the baby is wide awake and has plenty of time to socialize with others. On average, the baby has doubled his birth weight, and for some babies, it's time for a big change in diet.

  • Even if the meals must essentially contain milk—artificial or maternal—some parents will choose to start diversifying the diet when the baby is 4 months old.
  • He'll be eating apples, pears, carrots, or green beans!
  • Yes, in addition to bottles of about 210 ml, the baby will be able to receive a few spoonfuls of purees and compotes to awaken the taste buds.
  • But be careful, we start slowly, and with the advice of his pediatrician!

Can babies start eating baby food at 4 months? My baby can sit up with a little support and is still hungry after his bottle feed.

They can have tastes, but some mom do fully incorporate the baby food at this age. I gave a teaspoon per day until she was 6 months now she has 3 meals a day

My baby is currently three months. The doctor said at four months is when we start introducing solids, or cereal. When did you start introducing food to your child? Thanks, ladies 💜

My baby turned 5 months the 19th and I still haven’t started solids. I don’t plan to till she’s 6 months bc that’s what my pediatrician said. But everyone is different!! ☺️

Right! I thought it was 6 months as well. Not sure why he said we’ll start with cereal at 4 months.

When did you start introducing your baby to food? I’ve heard between 4-6 months old, but I want to hear from real moms.

Mine is 3.5 months I’ve given her plain scrambled eggs tiny tiny bites she loved them and I tried mashed potatoes and gravy but that didn’t settle on her belly well at all so that’s too soon

I’m very confused, so I can’t give my baby foods at 4months? Or I can? I be seeing baby foods that say 4 months on it

Technically you can whenever baby starts to show signs of readiness but their main food source still needs to be milk!
