Milk, weaning... How to manage the end of breastfeeding?

You have decided to stop breastfeeding and feed your baby formula instead. But how do you organize the weaning? Which milk should you choose?

  • It is advisable to plan a two-week weaning period so that baby's digestive system can adapt.
  • Gradually reduce the number of daily feedings by replacing them with a bottle.
  • If your baby is less than six months old, use infant milk; if he is more than six months old, follow-on milk is best.
  • Your baby may refuse to take a bottle, as she does not feel the warmth of the breast, so buying a physiological nipple will allow for a smooth transition.
  • You can also ask your pediatrician or a nurse at the maternity and baby health center for advice if you encounter difficulties.

What kind of cold/flu medicine can you take of you’re breastfeeding? The weather is changing and I know I’ll end up getting sick due to the season changing…

So after I had my son I got my first postpartum period and after it ended I started bleeding again a couple days that but that was in June and now it's almost the end of August and I haven't had my period since then. I am breastfeeding. Have any other moms had this?

I’m embarrassed to even be writing this but I’m desperate for someone to relate/ talk me down. Please no judgement as I am already judging myself tremendously. My baby boy is 12 weeks (3months) tomorrow. My husband and I had sex last Wednesday and had a condom breakage situation. I took an ovulation test that night and it was stark negative. I didn’t take one on Thursday because we were busy. I took another one Friday morning and it showed “peak”. I ended up taking a plan B pill Friday right after that test. (Again- please no judgement I’m married and 30 years old). I Got my first postpartum period already since my breastfeeding journey came to an end. I do have irregular periods and PCOS and this pregnancy happened out of the blue after a year + of unprotected sex. I know with PCOS can raise levels of LH giving false + ovulation tests, which i have had in the past. I need some reassurance. It’s not that I don’t want another baby I just don’t think I’m ready quite yet and I’m terrified of the judgment from others!
