Anyone plan to breastfeed or exclusively pump with flat or inverted nipples? I'm looking for tips. I really want to breastfeed this baby or at least exclusively pump.

I have inverted nipples and am breastfeeding and pumping. Nipple shield is helpful. We have been doing really well. It takes patience and can be frustrating at first but give it time we are 3 weeks old now and we are in a groove and feeding well 😊

also with pumping make sure you have the right flange inserts for your nipples it will help. Lots of nipple creams and ice helps the pain when it happens

how do you know if you have the right flange size? I only have one inverted nipple so I was able to measure one. But it's just confusing how to measure with an inverted nipple. 😊

She is probably just cluster feeding. My baby did it around that time. He was constantly hungry. It seemed like once I fed him, he was right back on my breast.

Question: any breastfeeding moms? How long did you breastfeed? Or how long will you breastfeed your child? I breastfed my son for 2 1/2 years. My BF don’t won’t me to breastfeed our baby past 6months, this been an ongoing issue.🙄

I’m planning on at least 13 months since she was a month early. Unless my milk magically dries up or something changes my mind that’s the plan, probably longer if anything changes

I’m on my third and I’m catching it my first two was smooth sailing most likely it’s poor latch when baby is done do your nipple like like the tip of lipstick 💄 ? is it scarring? Those are the signs of poor latch and if so try holding your babies head facing directly towards your breast rub the nipple under the nose on the upper lip and when baby opens wide then go for the insert because if you baby is anything like this one I just had she tries to vacuum my nipple into her mouth and boy do it make me want to cry that the technique I’ve went with for her and I’m in the healing process right now I’m not going to lie I breast fed still through the pain and it’s not at all easy but it’s best not to stop once the healing process is over the breast will come back stronger and prepared and all in all of it still doesn’t work out speak with your lactation consultant they are huge help

Heyyy mama, kWhen your in the hospital delivering baby there will be a lactation specialist that can show you how to properly latch your baby. A heads up tho breastfeeding hurts its not for the weak. I suggest you buy a good breast pump and store your breast milk in the freezer. Then get some colic safe bottles to feed baby with. Also you can buy nipple guards to protect your breast. I have to get Me some. I only latch my baby when I’m absolutely too tired to get out the bed. Other than that I’m pumping milk all day lol.

They will help u in the hospital the whole time ur there and idk where u live but where I live they even come to help in ur home the 1st week that way you can know exactly what to do. I wouldn't give bottles until after a month or 2 so baby can learn to latch all the time. It's time consuming because baby might want to cluster feed but if they do that just means they need mommas comfort. So don't get discouraged. The hard part passes after like 2 months. It hurts when breast are full but what I found is warm showers release milk so u can catch the milk while showering or after a shower. Get a hands free electric pump so u can also release the milk when baby isn't feeding and u can store that. They will give u tons of info at the hospital. Good luck and God bless

I strongly suggest asking the hospital for nipple cream, nipple shield & cooling pads!!! Breastfeeding isn’t for the weak. I’ve breastfed all 4 of mine and it takes some getting use to. The first couple weeks are ROUGH but the hospital does provide a lactation specialist while you’re there. So use them as much as you possibly can

How to breastfeed while pumping with large, droopy boobs? I don't have enough hands. A lactation consultant could only advise using a haaka, but I want to be able to pump.

My lac consultant showed me a hack where u fold a burp cloth, hand towel or other fabric and place it under your breast. It holds up a large breast. Roll or fold it, lift breast, place underneath, and drop breast
