Crying spells: a normal phenomenon

Red and swollen eyes, shaking shoulders, broken voice, runny nose... Inconsolable despite all your efforts to calm them down? Your baby has just had a big crying spell.

  • If there is no palpable pain, fever, or stomach ache, then the cause of the crying may be related to the need to release emotional or physical tension.
  • You're worried, it's normal, but you should know that many health professionals emphasize the benefits of a good occasional crying spell for a child.
  • Your baby is not in pain but is freeing herself from all the emotions she has accumulated.
  • To soothe your baby, take her to a quiet room and give her your attention.
  • Look for eye contact, and hold your baby in your arms, which can sometimes last for a long while.
  • When your baby feels better, she'll fall asleep or get back to playing.
  • If the crying seems excessive, don't hesitate to consult your pediatrician.

So true! It's been happening to me every other day since I was five weeks. Lol It's wild to feel this out of control when it comes to your own emotions. 😅

Girl grab a tub of your favorite ice cream or your favorite snack and turn on some funny movies or hop onto the funny side of YouTube. It be like that sometimes when your pregnant. Just know you're not alone. Even now after birth there's moments everything be making me cry too. ❤️ just remember everything is going to be alright ❤️

Anyone else still get crying spells or w.e they call it … or just so sad sometimes nobody ever teams about how lonely pregnancy feels sometimes I’m so excited for baby boy but sometimes I feel so alone and just feel like I’m selfish for bringing a baby into this world so unprepared and with a broken home off the bat and then I feel even worse when I cry cause I know he feels every emotion😭

Just talk to him rub him and apologize. It’s neither of your faults. We are mothers, not superheroes… happy Mother’s Day. Have a great day. I understand😘
