Acne

Acne
Acne, as many of us have experienced at one point in our lives, is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells.

It's usually identified as pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads on the face, neck, chest, and back.

Is it normal?
Acne during pregnancy is completely normal and it happens due to our favorite pregnancy hormones.

The increased level of hormones such as progesterone and androgens stimulate the oil-producing glands in the skin, which increases oil production and breakouts.

However, other than being annoying, there's nothing to worry about at all.
Prevent and care
Acne during pregnancy can be frustrating, but there are steps you can take to manage it and maintain healthy skin. Proper management of acne is important to avoid scarring and other potential complications.
  • Gently cleanse your skin twice daily with a mild cleanser.
  • Use non-comedogenic skincare products to avoid clogging pores.
  • Apply a topical treatment containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.
Here’s a natural remedy! You can make a steam bath and then apply Manuka honey on pimples for its antiseptic and healing action, or make mini poultices of pink or green clay 🍯

When to consult?
If your acne is severe or persistent, a dermatologist can recommend prescription medications or other treatments that may be more effective in clearing your skin.
