Will I be in pain after an episiotomy?

The aftermath of an episiotomy is usually uncomplicated, except for a little pain that goes away in the weeks following the delivery.

  • After an episiotomy or tear, the midwife will carefully inspect your vagina, cervix, perineum and anus to make sure there is no other damage.
  • It's normal to be sore after giving birth, so avoid having sex for a few days or even the first few weeks.
  • Creams, painkillers, heat and rest will help your perineum recover.

Anyone have any recommendations to relief pain from peeing. I got stitches from either tearing or getting an episiotomy. Please help me as I cry every time I pee.
