Will I be in pain after an episiotomy?

The aftermath of an episiotomy is usually uncomplicated, except for a little pain that goes away in the weeks following the delivery.

  • After an episiotomy or tear, the midwife will carefully inspect your vagina, cervix, perineum and anus to make sure there is no other damage.
  • It's normal to be sore after giving birth, so avoid having sex for a few days or even the first few weeks.
  • Creams, painkillers, heat and rest will help your perineum recover.

Anybody ever have a had a 2nd and 3rd degree tear during birth? An episiotomy was performed. I’m 6 weeks pp and my perineum is bleeding and small clumps of green puss looks like it’s coming from the site. My doctor had me self swab those all came back negative. I’m scared. Should I go to the er?

Any other mamas have to have an episiotomy? Did you have any complications? Will I need to have a c-section with my next baby? I’m 4 weeks postpartum and had a stitch come out the other night and now I have some bleeding where I was stitched. I’m so anxious the wound is reopening 😢

You won't need a C-section for the next baby. I had 2 already and you have to be careful. Call your doctors office and tell them what happened because they may need to have you go in. Always better safe than sorry.

I'm scared to try for a couple of reasons. The pain, and then the possibility of being pregnant again. Almost died with my daughter so I really don't want another...

Ask questions about every little thing and don't consent to anything you don't know about...at least not without an explanation ♥️🙃
