Helmet for flat head

If you notice that your baby has a small deformity of the skull, use a flat head baby helmet:

  • The helmet will help your baby's skull regain a more harmonious shape.
  • It is washable to avoid bad smells.
  • Thanks to Velcro, it adapts to the size of the baby's head.
  • The helmet is particularly recommended before the 6 months of age, as afterwards the skull is less malleable.
  • It must be worn 22 hours a day for it to be effective.

You definitely can shape a baby's head without a helmet ( unless recommended)

Mommas question.. My baby girl just turned 2 months , I’m always holding her and we’re doing tummy time (well we could do more often / longer) …. She is starting to show a slight flat headed, besides upping tummy time until she can sit up on her own what else can I do? If it doesn’t resolve by 4months, she will need a helmet (which I want to prevent) … so any advice ???

It’s a tummy time type solution, but… have her do tummy time when she’s laying on your chest. My daughter HATES tummy time, but she loves being close to me.

So about 4 months old is when it will start to improve, my son had a flat head but by about the time he could hold his head up we started doing more tummy time and sit up time which helped keep stuff off his head. He didn't need the helmet at all.

My sons flat spot hasn’t been getting any better because he hates tummy time for longer than 2min, seriously. We have his 4mo check up next week and I’m so worried she’s gonna recommend we do a helmet. Nothing wrong with that, it just makes me feel guilty and like I’m failing as a mom. Any tips for helping him with his head when he fights tummy time? 😫 His neck is pretty strong I would say, and his head has lost most of its wobbliesness (idk if that’s even a word. Don’t think so 🤣) so that’s not an issue

Maybe get something interesting for him to look at when on his tummy. Either a mirror or a play mat or toy. I know they say no screen time this young but if you introduce a certain song for play time....and only play it during tummy time maybe he'll stay for at least the duration of the song. Best wishes! 😊

One of my boys head is flat but they haven't mentioned anything about a helmet yet. And his looks just like that also.
