Water for your baby

With specially selected baby water, you can be sure that your child is well hydrated.

  • Your little one doesn't need to drink water until he or she is 6 months old, as breast milk is enough to keep him or her hydrated.
  • To meet your baby's needs, choose mineral water that is nitrite-free and has a minimal dry residue.
  • Look for the words "suitable for infant feeding" on the label of the water bottle.

I know for me as the momma, I use distilled baby water. Her grandmother uses water bottles and/or just purified filtered water. I've had no problems with either water sources.

So we were bathing my baby and a little bit of water fell in his face while rinsing his hair. He swallowed a few drops of water. Should I be concerned?

Ohh, no, never that early. Only breast milk or formula should be given exclusively for the first six months, at LEAST. Never water. Any water baby needs will be given through formula and/or breast milk. Giving a baby water too early is dangerous as it can cause water toxicity, and replace the void where they should be getting nutrients from their milk. Once you start offering solids, which should be after 6 months old and showing ALL signs of readiness, including sitting up UNASSISTED and holding head up for periods of time, this is when you can offer sips of water. However, breast milk and/or formula should always be the first thing you give before anything for the entire first year, then food after, and water.

I’m not sure maybe try sucking on ice 🧊 that should increase your water intake
