Event - Pre-register at the hospital

Pre-register at the hospital
During pregnancy, pre-registering at your chosen hospital for childbirth, between the 13th and 20th week of pregnancy, helps streamline the process, ensuring a smoother experience when the time comes.

Top Asked Questions
Is it too early to pre-register at the hospital at 11 weeks?

While it might seem early, pre-registering at the hospital where you plan to give birth can be done at any stage of your pregnancy. Doing so early can help you feel more prepared and reduce paperwork and stress closer to your due date.

What information will I need to provide for pre-registration?

Typically, you'll need to provide personal information, insurance details, your expected due date, and any preferences for your childbirth experience. Some hospitals may also ask for a preliminary birth plan.

How do I pre-register at the hospital?

Contact the hospital's maternity ward or check their website for pre-registration forms and instructions. Some hospitals allow you to pre-register online or by phone.

Why is pre-registration important?

Pre-registering ensures the hospital has all necessary information in advance, speeding up the admission process when you go into labor. It also helps the hospital prepare for any special medical needs you may have.

Can I tour the maternity ward when I pre-register?

Many hospitals offer tours of their maternity wards. It's a good idea to ask about this when you pre-register, as it can help you become familiar with the facilities and ask any questions you might have about your stay.

At how many weeks pregnant did everyone start their pre registration at the hospital? It's been 7 years since I had my son and I don't remember how many weeks I was when I pre registered with him,I'll be 28 weeks by my next appointment im thinking about doing it then or is that too early?

Tbh I don’t think I have ever pre-registered 🤔. Around 35 weeks my dr gives me my walking papers in the event I’m not close to where she delivers due to my history of precipitous labor.

Do you really have to pre-register for the hospital or how do I get a pediatrician? They gave me paperwork but didn't help me fill it out. It says I need to have a doctor. And they gave me a birth certificate form to fill out??? Already? I thought I did the birth certificate after baby?

You don’t technically have to pre-register if you’re giving birth they can’t send you away but it’ll help you to not have to do all that while in labor 😅 as for a pediatrician with mine I just have to tell them which pediatric office I’m going to go with then I can call that office after baby is born to set it up (I called the office and got this information) as for the birth certificate I have no idea why you were given it already

My ob gave me two hospital choices(since she worked with both) and I had already kinda looked at one of the hospital's website on L&D so I picked that one. After I had my son, they gave us the birth certificate form. The hospital also talked about pediatricians and helped me get one.
