The pregnancy registration
Don't delay in registering your pregnancy so that you can be taken care of in the best conditions!
In France, after your appointment with the doctor or midwife, your pregnancy must be registered before the end of the 3rd month of amenorrhea in order to follow your medical follow-up. There are two ways to do it:
- Directly with your doctor via the Vitale card with direct transmission to the CAF and the Health Insurance
- On paper, two copies of the "first prenatal medical examination" form that you will send to the two organizations mentioned above.

Who knows how baby registration works? Does it let people pick and choose what they can buy & tells the other people what is bought? Can I check what is bought?

You pick the items you want then share the link with family and friends they can't edit or change anything on the list un less you add them as an administrator. You can add how many of a selected item you want and also set up a collective purchase so those who have very little money can put money into a expensive item and multiple people can help buy that item so for example a crib can be pretty expensive one person can put in 50$ to help buy it another can add 100$ until enough money has been placed for the full purchase. Plus the register also keeps track of who buys what so you can send out thank you cards later.
