When does a baby take the first steps?

Can't wait to see your baby walk on her own? Be aware that walking, like talking, can happen at various ages, but here are some guidelines:

  • The first steps are generally taken between the ages of 10 and 18 months.
  • Perception of space, balance, position... the development of walking is done step by step.
  • It can take a few weeks between the moment when baby takes his first steps and the moment when he is able to walk alone without help.
  • Thanks to this new autonomy, the baby enjoys the environment even more.

I'm taking all the right steps with my baby girl, but I'm scared that we aren't really bonding while she's in my tummy . Is this normal? This isn't my first pregnancy, and I just remember feeling so excited for all my other pregnancy idk it just feels weird this time around!!!!!

I only have one other daughter who is almost 2. I’ve had the same experience and I felt guilty about it, so I’ve just focused on setting moments apart just for this baby (usually at bed time or nap time when it’s quiet)and really focus on how thankful I am and excited. I started my registry and I envision all the new sweet moments i’ll have with her and seeing my 2 babies bond💗 I felt like maybe cause it’s not my first everything was so new and euphoric for me, all the milestones and I actually had the TIME to be present and only focus on the pregnancy at the time and now that I’m having my second my energy levels are different cause I’m so focused on ALREADY being a mom, you know? A lot happens in the day with a toddler and honestly just life in general sometimes, I get tired lol. But just this past month and a half things have become more real I guess with ultrasounds and gifts and having a gender reveal! I definitely feel the further along I’ve gotten the more I feel the bond strengthening, I think mindfulness helps too :) a small example: whenever I feel her kick I say “hi baby quietly” lol. Just the fact that your mindful about it shows that you’re caring and you’ll get there. We already have kids that we get to kiss and hug and see every day and it’s just a bit different cause we can’t do that yet when their in our tummy and we really want to, so we have to do other things to bond meanwhile! Don’t be to hard on yourself, I know we are not the only ones and that doesn’t mean we will love them any less!💗

Y'all I'm 36w3d... My vagina hurts! Like the front of my pelvis is so sore. When I get up to walk, it's so uncomfortable the first few steps! Also, she's so low, I can't tell if when she's moving it's Braxton Hicks or her big 'old head cuz it's sharp. Any ideas or suggestions?

well, yes, I figured. Lol... but do you just tough it out or is there anything you've tried or done for relief? Or is this just my life for a few more weeks.

I used to walk everyday like 15,000 steps, all of a sudden now if I'm on my feet for 25 minutes, my muscles hurt and I'm in pain and my feet cramp up is that normal this early in pregnancy? Its my first pregnancy.

This is my third pregnancy and I cannot be on my feet more than an hour or maybe two at the max because I have plantar fasciitis that I got when I was pregnant with my first daughter and I have had it since 2010 so it keeps me limited of being on my feet
