When does a baby take the first steps?

Can't wait to see your baby walk on her own? Be aware that walking, like talking, can happen at various ages, but here are some guidelines:

  • The first steps are generally taken between the ages of 10 and 18 months.
  • Perception of space, balance, position... the development of walking is done step by step.
  • It can take a few weeks between the moment when baby takes his first steps and the moment when he is able to walk alone without help.
  • Thanks to this new autonomy, the baby enjoys the environment even more.

I can't believe my daughter's father, said that I need to exercise and walk a little more. First of all, I do exercise! Up and down the steps in the house is a workout alone. But I did it, I don't want my baby girl coming out any time soon. Wait til your arrival date shinka butt.

So tomorrow is my first appointment with the ob and I'm nervous. Do I get an ultrasound? What was the steps for you at your first appointment?

What nursery themes do you guys have picked out? I’m only half way through first trimester but I’m a planner and wanna put some ideas in my pregnancy journal. Our nursery is gonna be in our room. We have a big room and I want the baby in there for the first year since we sleep upstairs and the steps are right outside our room. I don’t wanna fall down the steps when I get up in the middle of the night to tend to the baby. I also wanna be able to get there quickly if anything goes wrong. So any ideas? We will put up a divider for the baby’s part of the room.

Just a little update... sooo 2nd c section definitely feels as painful as the first. I've only been able to walk steps to bathroom and a lap around nurses station once. They've even upped my pain medication. I'm loving every second of this one on one time but my husband and son at home go at it like siblings
