Pôle emploi and your pregnancy

If you have questions about your status with the Pôle emploi—the French government employment agency—while pregnant, here are some answers that will help you.

If you are pregnant and unemployed, you have the same rights as an employee: You can take maternity leave for a minimum of 16 weeks, depending on your personal situation.

During your maternity leave, you will be removed from the list of job seekers. But don't panic, the CPAM will take over from Pôle Emploi. You must notify Pôle Emploi about your pregnancy as soon as possible via the website or by phone.
