Crib Styles

The Different Types of Cribs
Choosing the right crib for your baby is an important decision.
With so many options available, it can be overwhelming. But fear not! We're here to guide you through the different types of cribs and help you make an informed choice for your little one.
Standard Cribs
The standard crib is a classic choice and the most common type of crib.
It features a sturdy construction with four fixed sides and a mattress that can be adjusted to different heights as your baby grows.
Some standard cribs also convert into toddler beds, providing long-term use.
Convertible Cribs
If you're looking for versatility and longevity, a convertible crib is an excellent option.
These cribs can be transformed into different bed styles as your child ages, such as toddler beds, daybeds, and even full-size beds.
This adaptability makes them a cost-effective choice for long-term use.
Portable Cribs
Also known as travel cribs or playards, are perfect for families on the go.
They are lightweight, easy to assemble and disassemble, and often come with a carrying bag for convenient transportation.
Portable cribs are ideal for travel or for keeping your baby safe and comfortable when visiting friends or family.
Bassinet Cribs
If you prefer to have your baby close to you during the early months, a bassinet crib is a great option.
These smaller cribs are designed to provide a cozy and secure sleeping space for newborns.
They are lightweight, portable, and often have features like rocking or swaying motions to soothe your baby to sleep.
When choosing a crib, consider the following factors:
  • Safety Standards: Ensure that the crib meets the latest safety standards, such as proper slat spacing and sturdy construction.
  • Mattress Quality: Invest in a firm and well-fitting mattress that provides optimal support for your baby's developing body.
  • Adjustable Mattress Height: Look for cribs with adjustable mattress heights to accommodate your baby's growth and make it easier to lift them in and out.
  • Ease of Assembly: Check customer reviews or ask about the assembly process to ensure the crib is easy to set up and doesn't require complicated tools or expertise.
  • Quality and Durability: Consider the materials used and the overall build quality to ensure the crib will withstand the test of time.

Her crib is ready!!! I did most of it lol at 37wks+5 days at that. Her daddy helped a little bit, but only because I wanted to do the whole thing by myself and then realized a needed an extra hand towards the end lol. It's a 3 (box says 4) in one crib. It goes from crib( 3 heights, currently have it on the highest), to sofa, toddler bed (with conversion kit, which is basically a small rail lol), to the crib without the the changing station attatched. I also put together the rocker my boss got for her. Pic of the crib in comments.

Loving that I can finally start nesting. We wanted to paint but we just moved in here about 3 weeks ago and I'll potentially be induced this week or next week. I'm find out on Tuesday ❤️. Hopefully this week lol, I'm tired of working. Here there crib though, I love it. We just need sheets. I'll throw her diapers and wipes on later, they're currently on her closet shelf rn. ❤️ #nesting

The crib probably has a couple inches extra because the length is from the outside measurements- so the mattress has to fit inside. What crib is it? It probably has specifications of what mattress

Hey moms! Has anyone bought the dream on me crib? Mine is arriving tomorrow but, I’m unsure what mattress to get. I’ve tried looking at a bunch of different ones but I’m getting so confused on which to get since it’s a mini crib. 😭

Thank you. I was worried for a second it wasn’t a mini mattress but, it had the option to get it in mini! I might just have to look into getting it. 🫶🏻

I found one that I wanted too! It's taking so long to sand. Had to ask my husband to help because I started cramping sitting there bent over it for hours lol. I have the sheets I'm gonna use and I love the color combo

Hey, Everyone! I desperately need some crib help! I'm looking for a brown or dark gray crib with a solid back. I want it to convert, so I want the solid back so that it looks more normal when converted to a full size bed. Everything I've found so far either comes with cracked wood, chipped paint, and dings and dents, or you can't find the conversion kits for them anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations for a crib? #firsttimemom #boymom #crib #recommendations #nursery

Hey Moms, I am trying to find a crib mattress for Graco Hadley 4 in 1 Convertible Crib Changer (Pebble Gray). I have been seeing alot of mixed or bad reviews when it comes to a crib mattress. Any recommendations or comments would be highly appreciated.

Find one that is GOTS certified and breathable. Lots of crib mattress have toxic chemicals in them and your baby is breathing all that in while their sleeping and that is so bad for them.
