How many weeks/months were you when you started buying the essentials suck as diapers and wipes and etc

I always wait until I’m 8 months … my grandma always said don’t buy for a baby early something may happen lol it’s superstition that the old folks live by so every since she told me that , I’ve always waited until I was 8 months … I would save my money up from the time I found out until my 8th month and then I would do a major shopping for EVERYTHING needed
